This is my diagram of what hajichi (Ryukyu/Okinawan women's tattoos) mean. These are not the traditional meanings and even those vary and aren't all agreed upon. We always want to know what was going through our ancestors minds when making these but you can't find the meaning of your own tattoos in books, they are only yours Now and forever :)
Arrows- as arrows never turn back, so will you never be the same as you once were
Your reach is endless, always pointing to the heavens that await us
Squares- wide open windows to view the cosmos, or mirrors to reflect on your place in it
Circles- Stars & planets to remind us of what we are
Islands floating in an infinite sea

Sedona guest spot @sacredrebeltattoo Thank you so much for having us! I can't wait to be back 😍 we're only 2 hours away.. it used to take me 2 hours to drive from Waianae to North shore every month to see my midwife, that's nothing!! It's always awe inspiring just to be out here in the rocks. And now the air is so cold you can sleep in and hike at any time of the day 😙 by @kiyagloriani

Trying to freeze time and hoping I can have this memory forever. I think he was 5 months old and I felt like crying all the time when I looked at him like my heart could burst with love at every little detail of his body, still shaped by the moments of his birth. I remember his head being soft and elongated and an ear indented because of the amount of time it took when he got stuck getting out. He's like a totally different person now that we have gotten to know, but I still see glimpses of him from this time. I still am overwhelmed by the feeling that every person was once this tiny and vulnerable precious and PERFECT just the way they are and so deeply unconditionally loved ❤️❤️❤️❤️ by @kiyagloriani

This keeps posting before I can write a caption lol but this is what I have been on lately... abstract and geometry is really exciting me! Maybe I'm bored of making things that look like things all the time... The same patterns found in Okinawa that are the same in Hawaii that are the same in the Philippines that are the same in Nigeria is so cool to see... like in nature, alternating colors on a checker, or binary 1s and 0s the pattern of contrast speaks a universal language that's readable and understandable, I like it by @kiyagloriani

It reminds me of kaki mochi or lumpia wrapper ~ my son drew pastel on it and then I layered with paint and paper mache 🫶 I love the sheerness of the paper by @kiyagloriani
