In 2016, I had the honor of attending a five-day symposium with six prominent Palestinian artists in Hungary. Watching Sliman’s creative journey from sketching, to mixing colors, to the finished masterpiece was a magical experience in my own artistic trajectory.
Sliman was humble, calm ,dedicated. A master , A legacy of Palestine. He lives on for generations to come. RIP 🙏🏼🍉 by @kiyanart

An extraordinary retrospective of Semiha Berksoy(1910-2004) the pioneering Turkish avant-garde artist and opera singer @istanbulmodern
“Portraits are never just about resemblance.” every portrait is an act of remembrance—a reflection of the inner world. Family, friends, fellow artists, and performers emerge not simply as subjects, but as revelations of their own psyche.

A story to be told : I once acquired a beautiful abstract painting attributed to Aref Rayess. Years later, the foundation declared it was not by Rayess. Ironically, it was then authenticated by Mahmoud Hammad’s foundation as an original work by Hammad. His original signature was replaced by a Rayes’s one!!
From “fake” to suddenly “unfake” !!!
A small story that says a lot about how tricky the art market can be. #lebaneseartist #syrianartist #fakeart #arabmodernart by @kiyanart

From 10 April to 7 June 2026, the Royal Tapestry Factory in Madrid— a historic institution dedicated to the creation and conservation of handwoven tapestry— hosts Al’Qala, a living showcase of tatreez (Palestinian embroidery), structured around three temporal movements.

“A Legacy in Threads” brings together a nineteenth-century tapestry, seventeen historical twentieth-century dresses and a selection of accessories, comprising a total of thirty-one pieces generously loaned by the Tiraz Centre in Jordan — devoted to preserving the Widad Kawar Collection and promoting the cultural heritage of Palestine, Jordan and Syria — these works affirm tatreez as a crucial archive of identity .

“A Nation in Stitches” presents monumental embroidered panels kindly loaned by the Inaash Association, created by Inaash embroiderers and representing six regions of Palestine, these panels reveal tatreez as a living heritage that carries refined craftsmanship across generations.

“A Heritage in Motion”, presented by the SILA Project, founded by Rula Alami, brings together thirteen artists in dialogue with Palestinian embroidery and contemporary artistic practice: Ahmed Amer, Areen Hassan, Ayham Hassan, Bokja, Dahouk Chamsi Pacha, Farah Behbehani, Jacqueline Bejani, Joanna Barakat, Leila Jureidini, Liane Al Ghusain, Nour Hage, Souad Amine and Zaid Farouki. 9 of these works were embroidered @inaashassociation.

The exhibition also includes the special contribution of Fadia Ahmad, whose cinematic installation Between Two Shades of Blue explores exile, collective wounds and the search for belonging. @thesilaproject @inaashassociation @ayham_hassan_99 @zaidfarouki @dahouk_creations @bokjadesign @lianeya @joanna.barakat.art @leilajabrejureidini.art @nourhage_ @by_areen @ahmedddamer @threadsofbelonging @ahmedamerofficial @j.bejani_art @farah.behbehani @fadiaahmadofficial by @kiyanart

Honored to have been part of the “Al Qala: Threads of Life” exhibition at the Real Fábrica de Tapices in Madrid. A truly special experience, made even more meaningful by sharing it with inspiring artists, dedicated organizers, and a wonderful creative community. This piece features four region-specific embroidery motifs forcefully torn apart and severed from one another. By dismantling the
fabric through ripping and tearing, the work fractures centuries-old regional identities, leaving
them tenuously connected. As well as the young homeless olive tree that wan’t delivered due to the prevailing situation in the Middle East. @realfabricatapices @thesilaproject @galeriejaninerubeiz @kiyanart by @kiyanart
