PERFORMANCE | The Art of Presence
She walked on stage not just to speak, but to be seen - fully. Kevine, a former Miss Congo UK, corporate professional and spoken word artist, stunned the audience in a radiant glass-stone headdress by @kiyanawraps. Each piece was meticulously placed to reflect light, emotion, and intent - a design that ensured her face, her story, and her message were visible from every corner of the room. This wasn’t fashion for fashion’s sake.
It was performance as protest.
Style as spotlight.
Adornment as armour. In her hand: a mobile phone.
In her voice: the truth.
A powerful indictment of the human cost behind modern tech - the exploitation of Congo’s critical minerals (@ycfnow) , the displacement of its people, the silence around sexual violence of women and girls in war and conflict. Through poetry, Kevine called for justice and dignity, amplifying the voices often unheard in global conversations. Her performance was raw, radiant, and unforgettable. Happy International Women's Day!! We have missed connecting with you, sharing with you, and celebrating the power of women. This year's IWD theme is #AccelorateAction, even in silence, which we have done in order to re-imagine our future and shape nw narratives. As we reflect on what it means to accelerate action, community building is at the heart of Kiyana Wraps. Creating spaces where we can exist wholesomely and wholeheartedly is a symbol of true female power. Here's to those of you who continue to change narratives that empower and disrupt! Where will we be without you? #empoweringwomen by @kiyanawraps
