The Smuggler Loop in Ischgl is an absolute must. #AD

🇦🇹 The Smuggler Loop, also known as the Schmuggler Runde, is one of the most fun ways to experience the entire ski area. It’s a full ski circuit that takes you across the Austrian–Swiss border and back in one continuous adventure. You’re literally skiing from Ischgl into Samnaun and looping your way home.
It feels like a mission in the best way.

You follow the marked route from lift to lift, chasing signs and stacking up long cruisers, scenic ridge views, and hidden zones you might otherwise miss. The terrain subtly changes as you move between countries, and there’s something pretty cool about crossing an international border on skis.

Pro tip: start early, follow the official loop markers, and plan a quick Swiss espresso stop mid-way to fully lean into the cross-border vibe 🇨🇭☕️

This isn’t just skiing laps. It’s a full-day alpine adventure you’ll be talking about long after the trip.

Three of my favorite things to do in Ischgl that (almost) weren’t about skiing #AD

1️⃣ Silvretta Therme Ischgl – After long days on snow, this place is unreal. Rooftop infinity pool overlooking the mountains, sauna world, and full recovery mode. Hot water + alpine air just hits different.

2️⃣ Night skiing in Galtür – There’s something special about skiing under the lights in a quiet mountain village. Fewer people, crisp night air, and that surreal glow on the snow. Total vibe shift from daytime laps.

3️⃣ The food – From cozy mountain huts to local restaurants, this was hands down one of the highlights. Sharing traditional Austrian dishes is the best way to connect with the people, the culture, and the rhythm of life here. You learn more over a meal than anywhere else.
Skiing brought me here, but experiences like this are what make Austria truly unforgettable

What a place ➡️

Most aesthetic ski hotel?

I went bottom bunk next to the door, which would you chose?

Most efficient lift I’ve ever rode

Big snow year meant the fence wasn’t doing much at this point.

Posted a youtube vid about them if you want to check out the chutes

Met at the first lunch and never looked back

Stay safe

Yes it was very very dark

They were too fast

Aconcagua (22,838 feet / 6,961 meters) isn’t too far away either.

Blue sky was a nice plus

The best way to spend summer is in winter

All bags were completely maxed out at 50 pounds

The Andes to be specific

So many friends down in Chile this year

Joan showed us every hit at La Parva and proceeded to flip off most of them

Don’t know why but I love it

The Chimenea was calling

So we had to go

Skied better than I expected

Santa Teresa

So many lines in there

This was a first

Like this almost every night

Long boot pack up False Parva was worth it for this one. First turns were some of the best the whole trip and then it quickly changed with a new kind of surface every turn which made it a fun challenge to try and ski smoothly. Managed to cut out right and get back to Chimenea after this making it one pretty unreal super lap. #weareskiing taken in La Parva Ski Resort by @kj.read
