March 15th marks the final day to experience Ripples of Joy at the Granucci Gallery, located within The Center for the Arts, as part of the Wild & Scenic Film Festival's Mobilize theme. Community fuels creativity.

These critters were Raku fired at Little Easy Studios thanks to Wayne Shaffer, who has generously opened his studio and shared his knowledge with so many ceramic artists. I’m grateful to be one of them.

This video captures a little of the magic of the firing process, but it only shows my critters. To truly appreciate Wayne’s @wayneshafferart creativity, you need to see his work in person. His sculptures are diverse, inventive, and reflect a lifetime of curiosity and exploration.

From Open Studios visitor to friend.

Three years ago, I met Glenn Husted during @openstudiosnevcowest at @isacc.info

Glenn is known for his incredible wood firings, so when he invited me to help with one, I couldn’t say no. The process is long, intense, and incredibly rewarding. Watching the kiln come alive and seeing the results emerge from the fire gave me an even deeper appreciation for his work and dedication.

I’m so grateful to know @glenn_husted_clayworks, not only as an artist, but as a teacher and friend!

If you’re visiting Open Studios this weekend, please stop by Isaac’s Studio @isacc.info #13 and spend some time talking with him. His work is spectacular, his knowledge is remarkable, and he’s the kind of artist who generously shares both his craft and passion with others.

The best part of @openstudiosnevcowest is the connections made and stories shared.❤️🐦‍⬛

A huge thank you to @thecenterforthearts putting together such a heartfelt Open Studios weekend.

While I was stamping silly/inspiring sayings on my critter prints, two lovely ladies asked for a special saying on my raven-in-boots print. As I worked, they shared that they are both widowed and that both of their husbands were named Bob. Since then, a pair of ravens has followed them around!

Zoom in to see what they chose. Moments like these are why I love making personal art and connecting with this amazing community.

My recent project, the Ceramic Critter Crawl, started with a GVNC Cultural District Mini Grant from Nevada County Arts & Culture. That support let me dream bigger—creating six handmade critters for local shops and turning downtown Grass Valley and Nevada City into a joyful month‑long art scavenger hunt.
The best part was the community connection: watching people light up when they found a critter, seeing folks explore new businesses, and even having raffle winners return their critters so they could keep delighting the public.
Nevada County Arts & Culture has been an incredible resource for artists like me. By donating to the Cultural District Resilience Fund, you’re directly supporting the creative work that brings our community together.

Serious Sunday for Today;
Life was meant to be felt, and lately I've been moving through some heavy emotions. Even when I show up smiling and silly, I'm quietly healing behind the scenes.
