I had the wonderful privilege of knowing Esther Blue the last decade of her life. She was such a trouper despite the physical challenges that beset her during that time. Sharp as a tack with a fierce wit to match Esther continued to share her music with the world, playing shows with Jack Jeffers and his band at The Zinc Bar in Manhattan, and ball rooms in Harlem. My only regret is not having known her back in the day - she must have a force of nature then. I look forward to meeting her many friends and acquaintances on the 26th at Gethesemane. I will love and miss you dearly Esther, and think of you every time I hear Ellington, Monk, Tatum, Peterson and other greats tickle the ivories. Rest in power and grace. ❤️🎵🎶❤️ by @kjbud

In the Spring of 1978 I joined the fabled brotherhood of NABET Local 15 Film and TV Technicians Union - NYC. Changed my life for the better - so many fond memories of working with wonderful people who found their calling in the industry.

To quote one of our members: "The film business - a great summer job gone horribly wrong."
