My son @og_alexjohnson captured it perfectly: “It’s always been obvious that you are the perfect buddies for each other- you compliment each other the way lifelong friends would, and are your best selves together.”

We are so damn excited about this. Love is the coolest. #coupleofcoyotes #love #marriage #elope #courthousewedding

There is nothing in the world that feels better than the feeling of coming home.

Saturday I was fortunate to be able to race Marathon #24. It’s been 2 days and I still can’t quite gather my thoughts together on this. I have logged almost 2400 miles since Jan 1, and believe that every workout and every recovery run (I run TONS of slow miles) fits into the puzzle that allows you to have the opportunity to go after your goal on race day. I continue to know that race day doesn’t owe you anything. And the marathon distance shows no mercy. Couple of thoughts:
1. @runrevel puts on an absolutely STELLAR race, covid or not. They are a class-act all the way.
2. Hands down the best part of a marathon is the people: runners and volunteers. No spectators allowed but still no stopping the energy that comes with this distance.
3. The support from runners and particularly other female athletes fuels me more more than I could ever say. I love seeing others achieve their goals and am also amazed at how runners pick up the pieces after a tough race and continue to go after what they want.
4. Not pooping your pants is great.
5. Winning a marathon at age 43 feels pretty great too. #fasterasamaster

In case you were wondering. This is what it looks like when your son meets you in the middle of the street of mile almost 17 of the New York City Marathon ♥️. @og_alexjohnson #newyorkmarathon #coyote #love by @kkapinos

Tomorrow. Full Marathon 41. @nycmarathon #5. I have returned to this distance over and over again for the beautiful reminder of the perseverance, strength, and fearlessness of humanity and to give myself the opportunity to be a little reckless. Every race is an opportunity to remind yourself just how mostly regular, and yet absolutely SPECTACULAR you are. And shit, it’s always so exciting to see what marathon day brings. Bring it NYC 🗽♥️ And PS if ya zoom in, you can see my pretty circa 2015 @garminfitness 235 held together by a hair elastic. Representative of my my hamstrings hangin on for dear life😎. #nycmarathon #coyote #relentless 📸: @austincriddle_ by @kkapinos

Guys. We cannot always BE at our best. But we can always GIVE our best. That’s what I always have tried to do out on the race course. 4 weeks ago, I couldn’t even walk because I tore my MCL in my knee in a bad fall while running. Missed 2 weeks of running and my peak weeks of training. Because often, we get what we get, and we don’t throw a fit. Yesterday, I ran 26.2 miles on one of the most beautiful courses @stgeorgemarathon. Because it’s pretty hard to keep me from what I want. 3:47 finish and my 3rd slowest marathon out of 40 of these babies. Hot damn the first half was lovely, and then HOT damn, it got HOT. I always welcome whatever battle is delivered to me on race day. I kept thinking about @stephrothstein post from Friday: “you’ve already won at this sport before you get to the start line or cross the finish line”. And yeeeeowww isn’t that just so true🖤. #relentless #coyote #marathon by @kkapinos

My Boston Marathon Recap. 🖤
#bostonmarathon2026 #BQ #coyote #relentless #runner by @kkapinos

Tomorrow will be my 39th full marathon and @bostonmarathon number 9. I’ll tell you something: running is an absolute gift, and I am so glad to be here. I’m lining up tomorrow with my same aviators, visor, red bandana, and my trusty Garmin watch that’s now held together by a hair tie. And of course my @clinique sunscreen- cuz when you’re racing Boston, ya gotta have the good stuff🤩. My body and hamstrings are being held together by the grace of God, and my heart is held by my husband @whydoirun , my family, and all of the incredible friends I’ve spent time with this weekend. Life is hard, but filled with so much joy. Marathons are absolutely ridiculous, and that’s what keeps me coming back. Tomorrow I shall make the journey with happiness and gratitude for the challenges and hardships in life that give us the opportunity to find our strength. And as a side note: I’m PROUD of this beautiful yellow bib- I earned it racing a 7:37 pace for 26.2 miles as a 47 year old woman. Runners: whatever your wave or corral or bib color, go GIVE EM HELL tomorrow and enjoy every second- you fukn earned it. #coyote #bostonmarathon #WWKD #relentless #marathon by @kkapinos

Don’t fall. Don’t fall. Don’t fall. @madmoose.events Red Hot trail race this past Saturday. Yeah I did no trail training, ran in shoes I’d never ran in before(they were @craftsportswear and felt incredible) and what a wonderful feeling to be intimidated about doing something different, and facing it with determination and a smile. I always say to surround yourself with people who push you and hold the bar high. And if you’re lucky, share every step of a desert trail run with them @suzettegachezbrooks. Route was perfectly marked, scenery was mind-blowing, crazy vert, and there was a bit of all the different desert terrain. Have a feeling I’ll be doing more of this because I like things that challenge the body and mind: movement is everything, and our bodies are made to move. #relentless roadrunner #runnerslife #coyote #trailrunning #running by @kkapinos

I mean, good lorrrrrrrd. I paid for these.

As a side note: I sent a few of these to @bethany_heinrich , and like a true friend, she zoomed in on one of my faces and sent it back to me. Savage.

Nuthin but a good time. This race is pure magic. Each time I’ve run it, it’s given me exactly what I needed. I reminder of my strength, a reminder that humanity is beautiful and good, and a reminder that life is not meant to be comfortable and easy. I love the fkn marathon distance and @nycmarathon is the greatest on earth. Cheers to the 50,000+ runners today and to all of the spectacular spectators and this amazing city. #marathon #love #coyote #relentless #nyc #nycmarathon #gritnotquit #38marathons #foryoufern by @kkapinos

Marathoning came into my life right when I really needed it. That was over ten years ago and the glory and absolute ridiculousness of 26.2 has been a staple for me ever since. I am so happy to be lining up in NYC for round 4 of @nycmarathon and my 38th marathon. It’s wonderful here and I cannot wait to enjoy the streets of New York. The miles are for @bethany_heinrich, the red bandana is for my love @whydoirun , the shoes are for @melebelle and of course, I need my @clinique lipgloss and SPF 35. Can’t wait to see @suzettegachezbrooks cheering on the course and to spend the morning with @austincriddle_ freezing our butts off in the staging area. #nyc #nycmarathon #newyorkmarathon #coyote #relentless #runnerslife #gritnotquit #marathon #elcemployee by @kkapinos
