One month ago today, I buried my mum. 💔

Two days after she passed, everything was done — her dress, mine, the coffin, the burial. I gave myself one day to cry. Just one.

I’m her only child. No husband, no siblings. Just my grandmother, my mum, and me. Last year I lost my grandmother. This year I walked into that same mortuary again — not for her.

For my mum.

Two women. One year. Everything I am, I owe to them.

The love that showed up for her reminded me she was never just mine — she touched more lives than I’ll ever know. So this isn’t goodbye. It’s a promise. The Kaine Briggs Foundation, every book I write — they’re my letters to her.

If you’re grieving too: you are not alone. Love doesn’t end. It just changes address.

I miss you, Mum. I pray I’m making you proud. Until we meet again. 💜🕊️

Who says the celebrant’s mum can’t be a celebrant too?

Last weekend was all about my baby girl Fayo, but of course, I had to catch some fun too🤭❤️

I couldn’t resist jumping on the Loketo trend😂💃🏽

How did I do? Rate my moves on a scale of 1–10! 👀 by @kkbrix

Our sweet girl is THREE! 🥹🎉

It feels just like yesterday we welcomed her into the world, and now look! Time really does fly. Happy 3rd birthday to our precious girl!

Special S/O to uncles and aunties who made out time to attend and for all your gifts and generosity. Fayo is truly blessed.

I had such a lovely time @unico2087 in Riviera Maya, Cacun Mexico! It’s an adults-only, all-inclusive resort, perfect for a baecation or girls trip.

Everything was so beautiful, from the interiors and bathrooms to the cutest macramé hanging chairs (my personal favourite 😍).

They have three gorgeous pools, amazing food options including Mexican, Asian and Italian, and cute experiences.

Definitely one to consider for your next birthday, anniversary, romantic getaway, or girls’ trip.

Definitely the kind of transition every mom and wife deserves.

We get busy taking care of everyone else, taking time away to take care of ourselves too is a beautiful gift I’m grateful for. by @kkbrix

One of the things grief has taught me is that healing is rarely as straightforward as we expect it to be.

I think we sometimes put pressure on ourselves to decide whether we are “healed” or still grieving, when the truth is that both can exist in the same life and sometimes even in the same moment.

There is no perfect way to carry loss.
You simply learn, little by little, how to make room for life again while still making room for the love that remains.

If you’re grieving, which of these have you experienced? by @kkbrix

Two months ago, I carried her casket. Today, I carry her legacy.

An only child, with both biological grandparents and parents gone, I carry a weight no sibling can share and a promise to my mother that I intend to keep. 🤎

So when you see me smiling, building, mothering, writing, and dreaming, know that an entire legacy walks with me.

I’m not just building a life; I’m building what comes next—for my babies, the generations after me, and the people I wish were still here to see it.

I must work harder. I have no choice but to keep going. 🤎

Two months ago today, I lost my mom.

For the first time since she passed, gratitude feels bigger than grief. Not because I miss her less — but because I’m starting to see the purpose she left in me. ❤️

I wrote these books through my darkest days. They became my escape, my healing, my way of honoring the woman who believed in me. Standing at my book launch, watching them sell faster than I imagined, I felt her pride surrounding me.

To everyone who bought a book, prayed, shared, showed up — I felt every bit of it. Tag me when yours arrives; I want to see your babies enjoying them. 🥹

If you’re grieving: you don’t have to rush it. The pain may not disappear, but gratitude can grow beside it. There’s still purpose waiting on the other side of your darkest moment.

Mommy, this is for you. I hope I’m making you proud. 🕊️

If you’ve read this far, do one thing for me: grab a copy of The Adventures of Ayo & Fayo — for your child, your niece, your godchild, or the school library down the street. Every book sold carries her legacy a little further. Link in bio. 📚

Leave a ❤️ if you’re carrying someone you love today — and tag someone who needs to see this.

I’ve been quiet since losing my mom. Grief changed everything, and finding the strength to show up again has not been easy. 🕊️

Before anything else — thank you. To everyone who reached out with their generosity, calls, messages, prayers, and love since her passing: I saw every one of them, even in the moments I couldn’t respond. I’m deeply grateful.

Swipe through because this is my first public appearance since losing her, and I’m returning with something deeply meaningful: the official launch of my first two children’s books, The Adventures of Ayo & Fayo. ❤️

These books celebrate family, culture, childhood, and the values we pass from one generation to the next. Every book purchased supports the Kaine Briggs Foundation, created in her honor — so every copy sold carries her legacy forward.

📍 Join me at Joyland — Friday, August 21
📚 Meet the Author & Book Signing: 3–8 PM
📖 Story Time: 6PM
🎟️ Raffle at 7 PM — free Joyland birthday party, courtesy of the Kaine Briggs Foundation
