MEOW! These sparkly, glow in the dark kittehs make fabulous bag charms or keychains! For a magical touch, their faces are painted with liquid crystal and change color depending on the temperature!! Link in bio.

Hiiiiiiiii. It's me, KKD! Long time, no post. I’ve missed you. How is everyone doing (or not doing, it's ok to not be ok right now)? I've been gone for a much needed break, but I apologize that I just dipped.

The last couple years has been a complete unraveling of the me that I thought I knew, and I have been saying goodbye to an old version of myself for quite awhile now. Identity busting if you will. The one that people pleased. The one that followed the rules. The one that pushed on. The one that derived self-worth from being a helper. The one that derived self-worth from being good at modding. The one that ignored her body. The one that told herself that her emotions were too much, that her own emotional pain would be unbearable (I'm GREAT with others pain lol). The one that learned to rev her nervous system at 100 miles an hour. The one that sought answers outside herself. The one that was afraid to fail. The one that was afraid to be truly seen. The one that didn’t think she was enough. I’ve been tired. I’ve been grieving. Leaving that version of myself behind resulted in me walking away from my 25 year career with child welfare on Christmas. That role required me to be ALL of those things I was trying to leave behind. It had been my identity my whole adult life. It was a huge decision for me as financial security has been a mechanism of felt safety for me. I won't lie, this part still scares me because I am not currently working, but I couldn’t keep swallowing myself each day to support a system that has and is still actively creating so much unnecessary harm to families (in particular families of color), community, and to their staff (in particular employees of color), while taking zero accountability, and claiming a desire to be anti-racist in policy. I am not sure what comes next. I have been undoing a lot of beliefs. I am learning to settle my nervous system after years embedded in others trauma. Years of seeing and hearing about things done to children that I can't unsee or unhear. I have been starting to create again and hope to bring new life to my FB group in a different way. taken in Longmont, Colorado by @kkdmods
