This was 2025. A year that was kind to me. The year where I finished my thesis (and listened to all top 2000 songs while writing 😂), and where I finished my bachelor. The year where I found myself a stable group of friends and people I care about around me. For the first time, I don’t need the year to end, but I also look forward to the next year! 2026 will be a year where I’m looking for a new job, a year where I continue my volunteering work and a year where I’m (for the first time in my life) positive about my future. Thank you all for making 2025 amazing! by @kkerklaan

Started from the bottom (2017) and now I’m here! After 8 years of university (in pure character of myself, I almost broke my own high school record of 9 years, but alas 😂), I finally got my bachelor’s degree in archaeology at the University of Leiden!! #archaeology #graduation by @kkerklaan

An afternoon at the Rijksmuseum: part II! After I visited the Asian pavilion, I decided to follow one of the guided tours. The app offers several free tours, all with their own theme. The reason I wanted to do this, is to be able to see some things you normally wouldn’t see (because it’s tempting to just go see the most famous paintings). I picked the women tour, which focuses on art made by, for or about women, be it historical or mythical. The different pieces were made between 1122 and 1933. An afternoon at the Rijksmuseum: part I! My friend @marielle.portier (who works there) recommended me to definitely visit the Asian pavilion, so of course I did! This part of the museum was mostly focused on statues, which has a really different style in comparison to the European art, which mostly consists of paintings. The collection includes art from China, Japan, Indonesia, India, Vietnam and Thailand, dating from 2000 BC until 2000 AD.
