For 50 years, Laura Williams has been a familiar face generations of customers have come to know at @tonsdrivein in Broussard. What began at the burger station in 1976 became a lifetime of serving meals and making memories.

Most people leave a job after 50 years — but Ms. Laura is building a legacy. Congratulations on 50 incredible years of pairing dishes with dedication! 🍔♥️ taken in Ton's Drive In by @kkquintero

On Wednesday, a shooting at the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge left five people injured and one person dead. Three of the victims were students from Ascension Episcopal School, including senior Martha Odom, who tragically lost her life.

I spoke with a Youngsville resident who lives so close to the school that you can see it from her street, highlighting just how deeply this has impacted the nearby community.

My heartfelt condolences are with the family members, loved ones, and everyone affected by this devastating tragedy. taken in Youngsville, Louisiana by @kkquintero

Louisiana lawmakers have regularly debated but failed to establish a state minimum wage, continuing to rely on the federal rate of $7.25 for nearly 15 years.

A full-time minimum-wage worker in Louisiana earns just over $15,000 a year before taxes — only about $800 above the federal poverty line.

I spoke with a Lafayette small business owner who weighed in as the House Labor Committee killed a bill to raise it to $12 – sharing her thoughts on worker wages and whether they could impact the bottom line for her business. taken in Carpe Diem! Gelato - Espresso Bar by @kkquintero
