KLANG MOOR SCHOPFE, das biennale Festival für audiovisuelle Kunst in Gais AR, erhält von der Landis & Gyr Stiftung den jährlich vergebenen Anerkennungsbeitrag in der Höhe von CHF 50'000. Die Stiftung würdigt damit ein einzigartiges Festival in einer Randregion, das sich erfolgreich als Plattform und niederschwelliger Vermittlungsort von audiovisueller Kunst in der Schweizer Kulturlandschaft etabliert hat.

🎶Für Idee, Konzept und Kuratierung des Festivals zeichnet der Musiker und Tonkünstler Patrick Kessler aus Gais verantwortlich. Herzliche Gratulation an Patrick Kessler und das gesamte Team!

Olaf Nicolai's installation at Klangmoorschopfe turns vinyl into an experience where sound, material and time collide.

Every day at noon, a real shot is fired by a professional marksman. You can see it, and also hear it pressed into the vinyl in the Schopfe #9.

Tonight we ring in the festival! Join us in the village centre for the pre-opening:

19:00: Solo concert by the Grisons percussionist and sound artist Peter Conradin Zumthor. Sweat-inducing rotational beats or abysmal gong ballads – Zumthor manages to weave concentrated starting points into untamed streams of energy and carefully explored soundscapes to create a statement of independent position. The drums become a personality, an autonomous voice. In the Reformed Church in Gais.

19:30: Short introduction by Peter Conradin Zumthor to his sound installation in the church tower in Gais

20:00: Con sordino: The bells prepared by Peter Conradin Zumthor ring out for the first time, heralding the start of the festival
