LONG POST ALERT🙏🏼💐♥️🎊

I initially joined this 10-Day Art Challenge to break out of a severe creative block. For a while, every attempt to create ended in frustration, and I had almost given up...

When I stumbled across the link on Facebook, I only expected a few simple drawing instructions to get me back on track. Instead, I found an experience that pushed me far beyond my comfort zone.

It wasn't an easy journey. I was so unwell at one point that I literally drafted a message to withdraw from the challenge, but something kept pushing me to try just "one more assignment," and I am so incredibly glad I stayed.

To our amazing instructor, Mr. Ebenezer Ekwu A massive, heartfelt THANK YOU. You have no idea what you’ve done for me. Beyond the prize itself, you’ve given me profound motivation and enlightenment. Creative concepts are flying around in my head again, and I’m effortlessly doing things I never thought I could. May God never stop blessing you!

To my fellow participants, sponsors and the organisers,Thank you for sharing this beautiful journey with me. May God continue to bless you all and set you on the right path.

Winning this challenge means a lot to me, but regaining my creative spark is the true victory. I am deeply grateful to everyone who made this event a success. Thank you all so much, And May God Bless you all

This piece shows the dynamics and sacrifices of Manhood....the struggles, BloodSweat&Tears, uncertainty and the burden of service

SYMBOLISM

1. BLINDFOLD - constant leap of faith, uncertain about where the road leads, with hopes of success

2. DARK TEARS- Agony, pain and torment.. this stems from failure,missed chances and lost opportunities.

3.SHAVED HEAD- This symbolises the death/end of a phase (weakness)

4.THE NEST AND IT'S CONTENT - (a) this represents Efforts and results..sometimes we put in so much and venture into different things only to end up with less than expected

(b) this shows how he is saddled with being a protector,even when he is uncertain of his own fate.

5.TORN SACK CLOTH- Struggles, lack and sacrifice..

LONG POST ALERT ‼️

ART TITLE: JOY IN CHAOS

This artwork was inspired by a little boy named Trust.

“Auntie, Auntie!” — that was how he always greeted me.

I used to see Trust on my way to school. He was a young boy who begged by the roadside and lived with the loss of a limb. But whenever I saw him, I found myself looking beyond his circumstances.

I saw his smile.

I saw a child who still wanted to play, laugh, interact and connect. No matter whether I had anything to give him, his excitement never seemed to change.

Around him was a world that could be harsh and indifferent. Yet Trust continued to smile.

That contradiction became the heart of this artwork.

Joy in Chaos explores the tension between the hardship we see on the outside and the joy that can still exist within us.

The chaos represents the realities surrounding Trust — poverty, disability, rejection, uncertainty and vulnerability.

But within that chaos was joy.

Not because his circumstances were acceptable, but because his spirit seemed unwilling to be completely consumed by them.

I tried several times to ask where he was from, but communication was difficult. Eventually, I managed to get his name.

Trust.

Then, one day, he disappeared.

I kept looking for him whenever I passed that route, hoping to hear “Auntie, Auntie!” again.

But I never did.

It has been over 9 years.

I don't know where Trust is today or what happened to him. But I remember his smile.

And that memory became this artwork.

Through Joy in Chaos, I want people to see beyond the disability or the roadside begging to see a human being..EvA child with dreams, emotions, curiosity, laughter and an undeniable capacity for joy.

Perhaps that is the greatest thing Trust gave me:

Sometimes, the brightest light isn't found outside the chaos.

Sometimes, it is the person standing inside it.

Wherever you are today, Trust, I hope life has been kind to you.

I hope you are safe and loved.

And most of all

I hope you are still smiling. ❤️

JOY IN CHAOS

This artwork was inspired by a young boy I used to see on my way to school. His name was Trust.

He was a beggar and an amputee, but what stayed with me wasn't his condition.......it was his joy. Whenever he saw me, he would smile and call, “Auntie, Auntie!” He was always eager to play, laugh and interact with me, whether or not I had anything to give him.

Even when people ignored him or looked at him with disgust, he remained happy. Somehow, this little boy living in such difficult circumstances carried a joy that many people with much more seemed to lack.

Then, one day, I stopped seeing him.

For over six years, I've looked out for him whenever I pass that route, hoping to see that familiar smile again. I never have. I don't know where he is or what became of him.

“Joy in Chaos” is my reflection on the resilience of the human spirit....the ability to find light even in the middle of darkness.

I only hope that wherever Trust is today, life has been kind to him, and he is still smiling.... by @klassifiedartz
