When they said “it’s a girl”, everything shifted.
Suddenly, I wasn’t just becoming a mom, I was becoming “her” mom.
And just like that, I was imagining a life I didn’t even realize I wanted.
It felt like my childhood reached forward and held my hand.
I never thought I deserved a daughter. It is soft and fierce.. overwhelming in the quietest way.
She is everything.
And I’m not raising her to be who I am..

I’m raising her to be everything she deserves to be.
