POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

30 years ago I completed my year 12 HSC artwork ....
Life took me in different directions and art quietly slipped away.
In 2024 I found my way back to art and haven't stopped creating since.
Every drawing and painting has reminded me how much joy creativity brings.
I am so grateful to have rediscovered art 🎨 ✨️
I hope this inspires someone to start creating again 🥰
Have you rediscovered a passion?
I would love to hear your story 💓

Ernie

I really enjoyed creating this Pet Potrait painting of Ernie 🐾

Ernie was such a handsome boy to paint with the most adorable, happy face.

I am so grateful I was trusted to create this painting for @max_carter777 who gave me an awesome reference photo to work with.

Finally had the courage to put varnish on my Lion painting 🤣
I do see many artists pour it straight on the canvas ! I just couldn't bring myself to do it !!!
Will do a few more layers now i ripped the band aid off 😂

I often wonder if switching between Acylics /graphite , Animals/musicians confuses people.

As a new artist I have found my creativity needs variety.

Bouncing between both mediums and subjects has helped me grow and learn.

It also keeps me motivated and I love to create the things I feel passionate about.

I also love the sensory experience of both. The texture of acrylic paint and the feel of pencil on paper.
I also love the smell of pencils 🤣 weird I know, but it reminds me of being a child 😊

Which side speaks to you more acrylics or graphite ?
Let me know below 😁

I had never heard of this little guy before !
As soon as I seen the pictures of him I thought he looked liked Elvis.
Then I did a bit of research and he is actually also known as 'the Elvis bird'

2 weeks complete of Birdtober 2026
Hosted by @aholmesartstudio

I have really enjoyed this challenge, it is so inspiring seeing other artists interpretations of each daily prompt ♥️

I have learnt alot along the way and it has pushed me to be more creative , try new mediums and styles.

Although some have not gone as exactly as planned it has helped me problem solve and think outside the box 😊

Only 17 more days to go 🤣

Day 11 Birdtober
Shoebill

Acrylic Pens
Ink

I find Shoebills quite eerie looking so I thought I would have a bit of fun and make him a little cartoonish 😂

I feel like if he spoke he would say
"Mahna Mahna" 🤣
