I’ve always dreamed of having 3 kids and it’s surreal that they are all THREE here now. I came from a large family with literally dozens of cousins and I knew I wanted to help that process out for my children. SE and I always discussed the number of kids we wanted and I used to think 4 was the number, but SE was ok with 2, so we settled on 3. 🙃 Caroline made the perfect addition to this crew and I’m so happy I get to dress them up in matching outfits and do all the fun things while they are all still young. by @kledawn

Trying to be more “social.” I’ve been called out several times for not posting about our travels. I will try and start posting more. 🤪 these trips will be out of order, but I’ll do my best. This was part of our recent trip to Maui in September. by @kledawn

Hawaii trip number 7, 6, 5, 5, and 3 for our crew! And somehow, it just keeps getting better!

This trip was all about Maui. A little bit of exploring new corners of the island, a little bit of revisiting our favorite spots, and a whole lot of doing whatever we felt like doing.

For the first time, it was just the five of us. No extra set of hands, no meeting up with friends, no plans we had to stick to. Just us, a rental car, and absolutely nowhere we had to be. Some days we did everything, other days we did a whole lot of nothing. Exactly how we wanted it!

Jasper, Caroline, and I snorkeled until our hearts were content, while Stephen and Valerie perfected the art of beach lounging, sandcastle building, treasure hunting, and boogie boarding. The time spent driving around the island…windows down, music up, & all five of us singing our favorite local songs at the top of our lungs.

And because homeschool goes wherever we go, we managed to squeeze in some learning along the way. Although, it’s pretty hard to beat an island full of volcanoes, marine life, waterfalls, & history as your classroom. Not a bad little field trip & 10th birthday trip for Jasper, if you ask me!

We wandered from lush Kapalua through our beloved Lahaina, cruised through laid-back Paia(even ran into 2/5ths of @thebucketlistfamily) ventured out to Twin Falls, and made our way back through Kihei and Wailea, all the way to Makena, where I took on some seriously BIG waves, and even took a day trip out to see Molokini and Turtletown.

We ate our way around the island, too. Banana mac pancakes and big-as-your-face cinnamon rolls, sushi bites, casual beach pizza dinners, a few fancy meals, and more coffee stops than I care to admit. Nobody went hungry or under-caffeinated, that’s for sure.

It wasn’t about checking things off a list this time. It was about being together, taking our time, finding new favorites, and enjoying the little things that make Hawaii so special to us.

Is there a magic number of trips to Hawaii before you’ve officially been too many times? We haven’t figured that out yet, but we’re committed to continuing the research. We’ll report back. by @kledawn

Highly recommend signing up for a two day golf tournament with a friend, wearing matching outfits everyone will ask you about and having fun with no pressure to win. by @kledawn

Happy 4th! Somehow this year with a sick little girl we didn’t end up getting a traditional family or kids photo. Nonetheless, we had fun with neighbors and friends, new and old. by @kledawn

Current status:
Up all night with one kids tummy ache
Hubby out of town
Sassy 3yo running the household

And somehow I’m still expected to function like a responsible adult today.

Respectfully, I belong on a beach in Italy right now.
