Glazing day!
After bisque fire (the first firing of the clay, which can only be done when it is completely dry through and through) you can glaze. The glaze is what creates the glossy, glasslike texture we know from cups and dinnerware. It is also what makes things food safe (with the exception of certain glazes which are clearly marked), and even dishwasher safe. I use some of my pieces in the oven for cooking, but those are less fun to make😁. We usually fire things to cone 6-it is a high temperature which makes the pieces stronger and more durable, as well as giving you colour effects that I think are lovely (for cool cone 10 pieces go check out the legend @hammerlyceramics -this dude is epic and his glazes are nothing short of amazing!). After glazing pieces are fired again. When gold is added (real gold btw) you fire one more time, but I think most of us agree it’s worth the extra steps (and the stinky toxic fumes!).

Just a regular morning here, nothing to see🤣
And yes, his claws are trimmed and yes, they do this every morning-after she (the dog) tries to hump him or steal his food😵‍💫

Sorry about the short clip-I have no idea how to do that continued editing bit once you take a break, so that’s all for today! (I intended to do one of those step by step things, but Life happened🙃
