Today I graduate from college at 32. 🤍

And getting here took a different path than I expected.

I kind of stumbled into mortgages about 10 years ago and ended up building a career I’m so grateful for. At the time, I even put college on hold to fully pursue it. It’s changed my life in the best ways and is something I’ll always be passionate about. But I’ve always felt my heart pulled toward psychology and mental health. It’s changed my own life and marriage in ways I didn’t expect, and finishing this degree was something I needed to do for myself and to step into that world someday.

But this week carries more than just that accomplishment. It holds something tender, too.

This week is when we were supposed to meet our baby boy, Teddy.

I had a picture of what this day would look like. And it doesn’t look like that.

If I’m being honest, I didn’t want to walk today. I wanted to stay home and feel the weight of missing you, my sweet boy.

But I showed up.
For you. For our family. For myself.

I carry you with me in everything. Especially today.

I’ve worked really hard for this.
I just wish you were here with us.

I’ll never forget the dream where you held my face and said so clearly,
“I love you mama. I’m so proud of you mama. I’m okay mama.”
