Two photos from our last show that I haven’t shared yet, and both mean so much.

One is our first aged event championship photo with our new team. The other captures an incredible stop with Rye as we won the ARC Non Pro.

Different moments, same feelings: gratitude, joy, excitement, and so much appreciation for the horses, the people who share this journey with me, and my family cheering me on from home. ❤️

My Danger Twins. ❤️ I love these two so much.

Nox and Rye delivered again today! Nox (Gunnabea Chic Magnet) brought home the L4 Derby Championship with a 219, and Rye (Flinn And Tonic) was not far behind him with a 217.5. The boy’s brought home just shy of $5,000 in earnings.

So proud of them, so grateful for every ride, and feeling incredibly blessed to be their partner. ❤️

Baby Batsy. 🖤 Thee Batman. 🖤

This 3-year-old is the kind of horse you dream about. Smooth, consistent, good-minded, and loaded with talent. He makes the hard things feel easy, and I’m having so much fun watching him come into his own.

Yesterday, he added another $3,250 to his quickly growing LTE with a 3rd-place finish in the L4 NP Futurity at Best of the West.

So proud of this one. 🖤

HUGE congrats to my new teammate (and pal!) @niklarson on earning her very first NRHA Morgan Bronze and Co-Championing the Limited Non Pro!! 👏❤️

Rye had himself a day, tying for the win in the Non Pro and taking home the ARC Non Pro win! Nox was right on his heels, just half a point behind him.

What a great way to kick off the week!

I’ve spent most of my life watching people form opinions about my family, my siblings, my nieces and, at times, me.

Why a decision was made. What someone should have done differently. What might happen next. Whether something was a success or a failure. Most of it from people simply observing from the outside.

It comes with the territory. And after enough years of watching it, I’ve learned something that has served me incredibly well:

Other people’s opinions are almost always none of my business.

Not because I’m exceptionally confident or because nothing ever gets to me. I’m simply well-versed in watching people react to someone else’s decisions and performances from the outside. Most of what gets stated as fact is really just guesses, projections and someone else’s feelings.

The last couple of weeks, I’ve been reminded of that in my own life.

People will always have something to say. Meanwhile, I have a job to do. A family to take care of. Laundry to fold. Businesses to run. Miles to run if I can’t ride my horses. A career, a future and a sport that deserve my attention far more than somebody else’s narrative.

Maybe that’s also why I feel so strongly about celebrating other people. Lifting them up.

I notice the people who simply show up. Who cheer with genuine enthusiasm. Who can celebrate a great performance without needing to predict what comes next. Who support someone without needing to own a piece of their success.

Those people are special.

And as a competitor myself, it’s a good reminder:

Trust the path you’re on. Tune out the noise.

People will speculate. They’ll predict. They’ll have opinions.

Sometimes it’s eyes down. Sometimes it’s chin up.

And sometimes, selective muting and deafness is a damn useful skill. by @kmarshall2k
