I can’t believe it been 5 years since I last saw or spoke to you. It feels like a lifetime ago.
You left us a bit unexpectedly, suddenly, I wasn’t prepared. Not that could have ever been.
I hope you knew how much I loved you, how much I appreciated all you did, all you taught me, things only a sister can do .
Girl , you could make me bust a gut like no other 😂. Some of the things you would say were so inappropriate, they reminded me of dad, which only made me laugh harder. God I miss you, miss him too. Anyway… as time passes the grief lingers. It ebbs and flows like the waves we use to watch in Pismo. And sometimes it really sucker punches me. There’s a huge void in my life where you use to be, but I’m so thankful to the precious people in my life to help me through, and my faith, thanks to you .

So, I can’t let today go by without saying something. It’s this lovely lady’s heavenly birthday. This time of year can be extremely difficult for me . Her birthday and Mother’s Day always seem to coincide, making missing her doubly hard .
But I’m going to try to choose joy. Remembering the things that brought her joy.
As in this photo. She is doing one of her most favorite things ever!!! She is holding a baby 🥰. She loved the babies, it brought her so much joy, it’s probably why she had so many of us 😉☺️.
She was the the best hugger ever , I miss talking to her and there are so many things I wished I had told her before she left us .
But through all the struggles we had as a family growing up , I never , not felt loved or wanted. I never went without food, clothing or shelter. I had two parents who loved and cared for me and it has been such a HUGE blessing to me. We had joy, laughter, we had fights among us kids , still do , lol .
Grateful and thankful, still miss you so much mom , I hold you close to my heart , with Gods promises 💕 Happy Heavenly Birthday 😘 by @kmhakimi

Finishing out a very busy weekend at the Baker Mountain House in Badger with my cousin Quintin and his wife Diane Legler. So nice catching up!!! Love ❤️ family ,and I try to take advantage of every opportunity of being together when the opportunity presents itself.
It started with being in southern California for Shelby and Brandon’s wedding on Friday, what a beautiful celebration of love 💕, thank you for letting us be apart of your joy!!! Even got to visit my precious sister before we ended things at the base of Sequoia National Forest this evening 😊. Love my family ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️, love making memories with them, just plain love spending time with them!! Simple 🥰 by @kmhakimi

So, whoever said time heals all wounded must have been talking about superficial skin wounds& not ones of the heart. No span of time can heal a broken heart or the loss of a loved one. Time marches on so we are forced to move forward, but we never forget. If you are blessed in this life, you get a father that loves, provides and protects. Teaches you the little things in life, just by the things he does without even realizing he is doing so. Well, that was my Pops. He wasn’t perfect, he was flawed as we all are, but he was genuine. He one of those annoying people who woke up happy, never met a stranger & knew something about everything, but just in a matter of a fact kind of way and not an obnoxious, arrogant way. He could fix, literally anything!!! He had a quick, witty sense of humor, that at times, wasn’t always appropriate, and I miss the hell out of him!!! He left us seventeen years ago today. So his suffering ended , when ours began. It’s also his grandson Michael Dolan’s birthday. He would hate knowing it would be casting any sadness on Michaels day. So to Michael I would say, your grandpa would want you to raise a glass 🥃 to celebrate the joy you gave him, the life he enjoyed , the life you should enjoy each and every day !!! Tomorrow is never promised , so live life with love & joy!!! by @kmhakimi
