Your engagement session is not a test of how well you can pose. 😂

You don’t need to know what to do with your hands. You don’t need to look at the camera every second. And you definitely don’t need to spend the whole session trying to look perfect.

I want you to have fun! 👏🏻🎉

Run around. Dance badly. Make each other laugh. Kiss until you forget I’m there. Get a little weird. Be ridiculously yourselves.

Because the best engagement photos aren’t always the perfectly posed ones, they’re the ones where you can feel the two of you. The inside jokes. The chaos. The softness. The flirting. The genuine, “I cannot believe I get to marry this person” moments.

Whether you’re loud and goofy, quiet and romantic, wildly affectionate, or somewhere in between there’s no “right” way to be a couple in front of my camera.

You just have to show up as yourselves. I’ll take care of the rest. 🖤

From growing up in big Iowa farm families to building a life together in the city, their story is proof that sometimes the best love stories bring two worlds together. 🤍

Their black-tie wedding at The Harmac in Cedar Rapids was everything a wedding day should be; elegant, emotional, joyful, and completely them. There was laughter that filled the room, tears that couldn’t be held back, and so much love surrounding them from beginning to end.

Emma & Matt ✨

We started their engagement session wandering through the farmers market, coffee in hand, fresh flowers lining the sidewalks, and the kind of easy conversation that makes an engagement session feel more like an adventure date than a photoshoot. 🌿🤍

From there, we stumbled upon the dreamiest little spot just outside the Iowa Capitol, where the spring blooms were showing off in the best way. We spread out a picnic blanket, soaked up the sunshine, popped a bottle of champagne, and captured the sweetest moments as they laughed, talked about their future, and simply enjoyed being together.

To finish the session, we stepped inside the Capitol, where the grand architecture, soft light, and timeless elegance created the perfect contrast to the fresh, colorful spring afternoon we’d just spent outside.
