Clytemnestra of Sparta, Queen of Mycenae and sister to Helen.

While preparing for the Trojan War, her husband, Agamemnon, king of Mycenae and a member of the infamous House of Atreus, had their daughter Iphigenia killed as a sacrifice for Artemis, who had been offended by Agamemnon and his men when they haunted one of her sacred animals. The sacrifice was not only to ease the goddess’s anger but for her to bless their journey to Troy, to allow them to set sail and arrive safely.

After witnessing her daughter’s murder, betrayed and grieving, she spent 10 years falling deeper and deeper into a rabbit hole of anger and resentment, plotting and planning her revenge. During this time, her focus was set almost solely on her vengeance, which led to the neglect of her remaining children: a mistake that led to her death.

When Agamemnon returned from the war, talking of his victories and the many battles he allegedly fought in, Clytemnestra knew it was time. While bathing himself, she trapped him under a golden net so that he couldn’t see nor move, then she took an axe to her hand and swung it over and over again, until he moved no longer.

Tried to give her Mycenaean clothing but with a little twist of my own imagination so it’s not 100% accurate hehe
