I ran my own baking business for 10 years & closed it to move countries at the start of last year

This is how it started & where it’s taken me 💜

Whether you’re just learning to bake, having fun with it, or ready to start selling.. you’re in the right place!

I’ve got recipe bundles, business guides + a community of bakers all figuring it out together 💖

The links in my bio if you want to see what I’ve been working on, there’s lots of free stuff too 🥹

So glad you’re here + don’t be afraid to introduce yourself below🫶🏼 by @kneada.bakes

These are some of the things that genuinely helped me build a baking business that replaced my corporate job and I hope they help you too.

Let me know if you have any questions in the comments! 🤗🌼 by @kneada.bakes

For ageees I was scared of charging ‘too much’ or raising my prices in case people wouldn’t want to buy from me

I didn’t even used to charge for deliveries, even though I was spending money on fuel and time doing the deliveries myself

These aren’t smart business moves and I wish I’d made the changes sooner 🥲

So much time and effort goes into creating our products and getting them to the customer (not just the product themselves)

Especially with occasions and seasonal events, all the extra decorations, ingredients, hand written notes and time to package and organize everything!

One of the most common questions I get is ‘how much should I charge’

But that isn’t something I can decide for you 🙂‍↔️

Your prices should be based on the cost of your ingredients, your time and your overheads - these are the things that matter when you actually want to make a PROFIT

Somethingthing I do recommend is charging extra for big occasions (like Christmas coming up soon!) 🎄

Even $2-$3 extra can make a big difference to you (and the customer might not even notice the increase!)

After baking for business for over 10 years, I learnt A LOT

Inside my bakers bundle I’m literally handing it all over to you

🌼The exact products that made me thousands
🌼The seasonal menus that sold out
🌼The business model that gave me consistent orders
🌼The little tweaks + strategies that made the difference

And yes, I’ve included a pricing calculator & extra tips in there too!

I struggled for sooo long making all the mistakes because I had no clue how to actually prep my dough correctly

That’s why my cookies were inconsistent, unpredictable and never came out how I wanted

Now I know how each stage should look, no matter the flavour or cookie I’m making.. the method stays the same and my cookies come out more consistent than EVER

I’ve experimented with new mixers, ingredients, ovens and even baking in different countries but can always count on this to bake the best

They’re literally the only cookies I’ve baked and sold for over six years now & I still get excited to bake one for myself 🤭

If you want cookies you can actually count on, all my recipes, extra tips and techniques are in my cookie bundle

Every time I used to put my cookies in the oven they would start spreading uncontrollably and end up like puddles - it stressed me out so much. These are just a few mistakes I was making 😭😆

🍪 Creaming my butter and sugar - I do this for cakes and didn’t realise that incorporating lots of air could affect the texture and structure of the cookies I was trying to make

🍪 Not paying attention to my butter temperature. Butter that’s too soft can make your dough greasy and cause your cookies to spread too much in the oven. Cold, cubed butter helps keep the dough firm

🍪 Undermixing my dough because I was so worried about overmixing, which meant I did the opposite which was just as bad! It can mean your ingredients aren’t properly incorporated, leaving you with crumbly dough that hasn’t fully come together

🍪 Not pulling apart my dough! Pulling apart the dough helps create texture with those cracked tops that give cookies that chunky, bakery-style look. I literally NEVER skip this step now

🍪 Not baking from frozen. Starting with frozen dough helps delay spreading as the butter melts, giving your cookies a better chance of staying thick and chunky rather than flattening out in the oven (it’s also really convenient)

🍪 Using random ingredients. I’d go for what was cheapest, which meant my ingredients often changed. Now I stick to the brands I know & love because consistent ingredients help me get consistent results (but that doesn’t always mean the most expensive!)

Now I know exactly what works to bake my cookies stress freeee and save myself time & no longer waste ingredients. I’m confident each time they come out the oven they’ll be perfectt 🥹

I have the same process for ALL flavours which makes baking easier & saves buying lots of different ingredients

All my cookie secrets, flavours and recipes are inside my bundle

They’re perfect for baking at home for friends and family, OR selling in your bakery - I do both! by @kneada.bakes

These are the real things I do myself (that actually worked) & I suggest you give them a go

These are all simple strategies... but they worked every single time. If I was starting again tomorrow, l’d do the exact same things

Make sure you’re following me for more tipsss by @kneada.bakes

I genuinely used to wait by the oven nervously to see how my cookies were going to come out 🥲

Most of the time they were flat like pancakes and NEVER baked consistently… so I had to fix it ASAP
I worked on my method and technique, paying attention to the small steps that actually matter (not just the ingredients)

My biggest cookie tips:
🍪 Don’t cream butter & sugar! It adds extra air into the dough and I’m going for thick & chunky, not light & cakey
🍪 Pull apart the dough after mixing instead of leaving it as one dense lump. It helps build texture and stops the cookies being dense when you bite into them
🍪 Add mix ins with the dry ingredients (biscuit crumb, marshmallow, freeze dried fruit etc)
🍪 Portion & roughly ball the dough BEFORE adding fillings. It makes everything easier and helps keep fillings secure in the middle
🍪 Always freeze the cookies before baking. It helps with structure, consistency and means I only bake what’s needed instead of wasting a whole batch
🍪 Bake on a higher temp than cakes/brownies etc
🍪 Don’t move them too quickly after baking. Cookies are delicate straight out the oven and continue setting on the tray for 20-30 mins

I’ve used this exact method & recipe for over 5 years now and genuinely wouldn’t bake another cookie recipe again 🥹

These are the exact cookies I sold in my own business and customers always told me they were their FAVES

All my recipes, cookie tips, tricks & flavours are inside my cookie bundle

You don’t need loads of recipes or a ton of products to make lots of sales in your home bakery

In fact, I’d actually recommend doing the opposite and focusing on one or two show stoppers to sell..

Ideally something you LOVE and can make on repeat without loosing quality or consistency 🥰

Next choose how & where you want to sell it (online, in person events, delivery, shipping etc)

THEN you need to suss out how to get the orders flowing in, which doesn’t just mean posting photos and hoping for the best! 😅

You need a bit of strategy behind your sales and how to build up your customer base, don’t be afraid to talk about your products on repeat!

Show off how good they are but also where they fit into somebody’s day, your marketing shouldn’t just scream ‘here’s my cakes, please buy them’

Take pre orders, instead of baking a ton of product and hoping things will sell

Run flash sales but post & collect orders before you start baking (the customers don’t know that part though) 🤫

Remember the old school marketing methods, don’t just focus on social media.. events, business cards, collabs with local businesses - all good ways of getting your name out there

It took me years to figure it out and be confident enough to quit my job to go full time.. but you can do it quicker

I’ve put together the exact things I did to sell my own products, gain loyal customers AND sell out events all into my bakers bundle - there’s real examples and ideas which you use in your own business right from the start

It also has all my recipes so you can steal my best sellers and sell them for yourself in your own business

1. Allow different flavours within boxes. Customers love the build your own box concept and nobody really wants a box of the same flavour anyway hehe
2. Work with corporate customers. There’s always an occasion and if you do a good job they’ll likely come back again & again
3. Offer delivery. It expands opportunities of who you can sell to as you aren’t just limited to your local area
4. Offer mini versions. So quick & easy to make, quantities add up fast. They’re perfect for sharing and for kids!
5. Occasion specific products (giving people an actual reason to buy e.g. baby shower, new home gift etc) it makes the purchase choice easier
6. Keep up to date with seasonal events & occasions, each one is a new opportunity!
7. Mix classics with creatives. People are drawn in by what they recognise, you don’t win prizes for the most creative flavours..
8. Have easy, scalable products and recipes you know bake consistently each time, no matter the quantity
9. Keep cookie dough in the freezer to bake on demand and say yes to last minute orders
10. Give a genuinely good service — being friendly, reliable, on time. People remember how you made them feel just as much as what you baked
11. Reward loyalty — small discounts, freebies, or even just remembering a returning customer.. A little bit of kindness goes a long way (also a good way to use up any leftovers)

You don’t need a big or complicated menu! I always suggest a couple of products you love & getting really good at them..

I baked for business for over 10 years. It started as a bit of fun in my parents’ kitchen but eventually became my full time job 🥹

People went a little crazy for these, a few reasons why they sell so well:

🌼 Unique with the option to add familiar yet fun toppings (like kinder, biscoff, Oreo etc) OR seasonal options
🥳 Perfect for birthdays, gifts or cutting up to share
🍫 A cheaper and more practical alternative to a big cake
🍰 Efficient to bake with no waste

My entire baking business was built on simple, repeatable recipes put together and positioned as irresistible offers for customers

I started baking for fun at home and ended up quitting my job to do it full time 🥹

These brownies are easy to create with all the ingredients going in one bowl (no mixer required) SUPER easy to create at home right away

If you’re ready to take your baking business seriously and actually make sales this year

I put together a bundle with all my best selling products PLUS everything you need to sell them and make your business a success

Of courseee, you can figure it out along the way. But I put this together so that you can skip the trial and error (and not take 10 years like I did) 😅 by @kneada.bakes

I HATE biting into a ‘stuffed’ cookie and there’s hardly any filling, or it’s all gone in one bite

That’s why I was determined to make sure that wasn’t how my cookies were

A few quick tips:

🍪 Use a round ice cube tray to portion your fillings. They come out like perfect little pucks ready to go inside the cookie dough before baking
🍪 Always freeze your filling! Whether it’s spread, chocolate or something else.. I always freeze BEFORE they go inside the cookie
🍪 Ensure you cover the whole filling with your cookie dough, any gaps can mean that it will leak out in the oven
🍪 Leave cookies to rest on the baking tray. The filling is like molten lava when it comes out the oven, don’t try to move it before it cools completely and sets

I do this with different spreads, ganache and fillings, you can experiment with whatever you like

I used to spoon fillings onto a tray and try to squash them in the freezer but was messy, the sizes weren’t always exactly the same & neither were the shapes

Now this trick gives me the confidence that each cookie has a consistent, even filling & its securely in the middle of the dough

I can bake my cookies stress free, save myself time and no longer waste ingredients

P.S. not EVERY cookie recipe is designed to be chunky or hold a stuffed core (luckily mine do both hehe) by @kneada.bakes
