Its a 3-day affair including workshops leading up to the battle event on the 26th April.

25 minutes of straight-up circle communion, 2 and a half minutes struttin’ down that soul runway, 7 rounds of furious round robin throwdowns, and one backbreakin’ 4-minute 8-count final boss showdown — that’s the kinda heavy funk it took to rise to the top!

Big props and mad love to @clarencekum, our stone-cold champ, lockin’ it down and reppin’ the Lion City with pride at the Lock City World Finals 2025 in Taipei!

And can we get a righteous shoutout for @nat_inez — sister laid down such fierce femininity funk as the runner-up and ruled the Round Robin like the queen she is!

I’m back at a dance event! But not as a participant 😬

It’s my pleasure to come back and contribute to the community as a prize sponsor, to send the champion winner to the Lock City World Finals happening in Taipei next month!

Most people may not know, but the Lock City competition was first conceptualised in Singapore back in 2013.

I remember it was discussed over supper with @agadesign in Chinatown, after the conclusion of Lockdown 2013 event.

The idea back then was to unite various cities around the world with the common passion for the street dance art form of Locking.

Fast forward to today, we are finally bringing back Lock City ever since Covid halted the entire competition!

Congratulations to @clarencekum for winning the qualifier - truly a well deserved result after so many grueling rounds of battle today!

Thank you to @ianny_ian_ian and the organising committee of @kneedeep.sg for having me - I had so much fun and enjoyed seeing so many familiar (and very new) faces today.

Let’s keep the community growing! And most importantly always have fun dancing, give your best and never leave anything behind on the dance floor.
