October half term xxx

It was a week of 2 halves! I went into half term with reasonable energy levels and managed an afternoon out to Rotherham Super Bowl where the highlight was finding that they still have a Wimpy inside 🙌

Me and Emily watched lots of Malory Towers and The Traitors (with Piggy and Lamby of course).

And we had a lovely afternoon out at Chatsworth House - it was absolutely gorgeous to be out in the autumn scenery and it fell on a day when I had low symptom levels, which was a bonus and I felt really lucky 🍂🍁

Sadly that lovely afternoon out took a huge toll on me physically and I have been really ill ever since with a massive flare of my Long Covid symptoms. I did manage to get down the stairs on Halloween to watch Hocus Pocus with Emily. 🧙

I won’t try to explain how severely the Long Covid affects me during a flare up, but it isn’t just being a bit tired and having to stay in bed, it’s a full systemic shut down that is very unpleasant. And there are many thousands of us in the UK still dealing with the havoc it has caused in our lives on a daily basis. #LongCovid

My #MagimixGoldenOldie ❤️

My Magimix Cuisine Systeme 4200 ❤️ My mum bought it for me as a Christmas present after my eldest son was born so it’s now about 24 years old … it’s still going strong and has never broken once, even though I did once almost kill it with a VERY dense Mary Berry Christmas cake recipe 😁

It has seen me through lots of baking with my kids, breads, soups and sauces, Christmases and birthdays. Successes and disasters!!

My eldest son is married now and has just moved into his first home with his wife, so if I’m lucky enough to win the new 4200XL l’d love to pass this old faithful on to them to get them started. (Yes it’s a vintage family heirloom now 😁)

Thank you @magimixuk for the baking memories and a machine that lasts!! by @knightleys39

A few of photos from the end of our summer holidays at the caravan ☀️☀️☀️ by @knightleys39

It’s the last week of our summer holidays so here’s a throwback photo of Emily on the beach … one of my favourite photos ever of our summer holidays ☀️💙🌊

Totally captures the joy of being on holiday 💙

Lovely first week of the summer holidays at the caravan 💕☀️
Blue skies, a couple of beach walks, Emily learned to skateboard, donuts in Mablethorpe, Jack & Hollie stayed with us for a few days, and Emily won a pumpkin Mickey at the Gig on the Green fete 😁☀️ by @knightleys39

A few photos from May half term at the caravan ☀️🌊

It was a lovely week but it also coincided with the heat wave which my body did not like! The heat had a severe impact on my Long Covid/ME so I laid low for a lot of the week. But I did manage to make it to the beach on one of the days which was good for the soul! I find it so relaxing watching the sea 🌊

My current read is the fifth book in the Outlander series … I am thoroughly enjoying reading my way through the series. Taking me ages though because they are HUGE books … this one is 1500 pages 😬🥰 by @knightleys39

The week before half term I was up in the Cairngorms with my mum and dad. It was a perfect week of slow walks, soaking up the beautiful scenery, coffee and good food, a brilliant night watching the Eurovision final, a lovely day with my best friend Sarah catching up after 2 years, and lots of reading with the Scottish pines around me.

Absolutely failed on the photo front - no photo of my dad or Sarah - but lovely memories that keep me going during the more difficult health days. 🤍🤍🤍 by @knightleys39

A few beautiful nature photos from the last couple of weeks … flowers in our front garden at home; and the beauty of the pine forests and the River Spey in the Cairngorms this week whilst I’ve been away. 💜💙💚

Last week I had my big birthday 🎉💕

I stretched my celebrations across a few days … We had dinner at The Ivy in York, a beautiful brunch at Holme Cafe in Penistone, and time with my lovely family at home 💕

I’m not sure how I’m 50 … I’m sure I was in my 20s just a few years ago!! by @knightleys39
