Autumn in Nova Scotia hits different. 🍁
Started the morning in Mahone Bay, coffee in hand, watching the light spill across those three famous churches reflected in the harbour.
🎃🍂 Scarecrows everywhere you look! 🍂🎃
Mahone Bay, turns into the cutest, quirkiest autumn wonderland during the Scarecrow Festival. Every street, porch, and storefront along the waterfront is filled with handmade scarecrows, from clever and funny to downright spooky.

Add the fall colours, the harbour views, and the three famous churches, and it's pure October magic.

Wandered the shops, found the perfect wool for a winter project, and chatted with a local about the best chowder in town.

Then it was on to Lunenburg: colourful waterfront buildings, crisp salt air, and a stroll along the working wharf. Finished the day with a fresh seafood dinner as the sun dipped behind the masts of the tall ships. ⚓
Some days just fill your cup. This was one of them. 🧡

Found a little slice of yarn heaven in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia 🧶✨
Tucked among the colourful waterfront buildings of this UNESCO town, this yarn shop is a dream: shelves of soft merino, hand-dyed skeins in every shade of the sea, and the kind of cozy charm that makes you want to cast on something new right then and there.
Local yarn shops are magic. Come for the fibre, stay for the conversation. 💛

Meet Princess, Blue, and Juliette. 🦙 These are the very alpacas who grew the fiber for my new yarn, and I got to say thank you in person.🥰
Spent the morning @alpagabersi , and honestly? I'll never look at a skein the same way again. This soft, squishy, slightly judgmental face is where it all begins. Every cozy stitch I knit starts with these beauties. 🧶
Some things I learned:
✨ Alpacas hum when they're content (it's the sweetest sound)
✨ Their fiber is warm, silky, and so soft against the skin
✨ Knowing the animal behind the yarn makes every row feel more meaningful
Princess, Blue and Juliette, I promise to make something worthy of your fleece. 💛

After the fire, I wasn't sure I'd pick up my needles again. 🧶 But I had JUST put this beauty on needles, this JoyBird @manosdeluruguayyarns @purlsoho
In Candy Shop and I couldn’t bare to walk away from the beautiful twists of color. Even though I was told to throw it away, because ot was ruined in the fire...Yarn has a way of pulling you back. Stitch by stitch, this rainbow cowl rose from the ashes, a little color after the storm. 🌈 I soaked it, until all the colors ran clean from the soot and ash. She wraps me in love, and she is just what I need during this time where I'm finding new depths of my reality.
Rebuilding looks different for everyone. For me, it looks like cozy stitches and brighter days ahead.
