These were fun stockings. I have been working on them on and off all summer. I wanted to make sure they coordinated because they are intended as a gift to a couple, and it's not always easy to get stitch counts to match a vision. I'm happy with the final result though!

This week I'm working up a second stocking from my pattern draft to correct any glaring errors before I hand it off to my pattern tech editor @monahantechedit

The pattern has very accessible colorwork for anyone who is newer to stranded knitting. It's a really fun knit!

I think this is such a cheerful pair of stockings, not sure where they will go when I finish, goodness knows I have enough stockings here for 4 families 😂

This week I'm working on a variation for a pattern I've written. I'm using two strands of fingering held together. It creates such a squishy, dense fabric, absolutely perfect for a stocking! Colors are the request of the recipient, I love them 😍

Current project keeping my hands busy. I'm nearly ready to put my afterthought heel stitches in. This may make it into my "Patterns to type up and publish" queue....though to be honest that's a ridiculously long list at this point 🙈

Anyway, it's my favorite kind of knit- engaging, but relaxing.

We are preparing to say goodbye to our Marley tomorrow morning.

She was an epic counter surfer in her day, and has undoubtedly participated in her share of mischief. But goodness, she unlocked the good dog achievement level too.

Surrendered by her first home at 9 months because she got "too big" my newly married husband and I took her home to a small apartment with two cats. She said, "Okay, cool" and rolled with it. It would be a recurring theme in her life.

We added a baby a year later and another puppy a year after that. In the twelve years she has been with us, our family grew from two to six humans. Our home is chaos more often than not, but this girl has never batted an eye at it, just the occasional look asking me to corral my pups as she would lumber off to my bed for a more peaceful nap... Sometimes leaving me wishing I could join her. She has been subjected to everything that comes with living with a young family and has always taken it in stride and greeted every new addition with a wagging tail and the gentle watching eyes of a good guardian. Our kids have literally never known a life without her and she has been an amazing dog for them to have started life with.

She will be sorely missed and fondly remembered, but her job is done and she has done it well. It's time for her to be at peace and without pain.

I know #kitchner gets a side-eye from a lot of #knitters ...I'm an oddball I suppose because I love it! I find the rhythm of it nearly as relaxing as the actual knitting. Anyone else?

Crocheted this cute little guy to test out the free Diddy Hedgehog pattern from @crochet_stitch_witch before my beginner crochet kiddo gives it a try. Knitting is my favorite, but a cute pattern like this is fun to crochet too!

All four boys promptly put in an order for me to make them one. Guess I'm making hedgehogs tonight 🤷😂 #hedgehog
