🎶 Our journey through Chinese Zodiac continues with Ox, performed by Xuanxuan Sun.

This is the second movement of Sérgio Assad’s work for solo guitar, dedicated to Chinese guitarist Xianji Liu. The composition consists of twelve movements, each named after an animal of the Chinese zodiac.

This performance was recorded at GFC Studio in Beijing by Sam Wang.

Some musicians leave their mark not only through what they play, but through what they pass on.

After a lifetime on international stages and many years dedicated to teaching, Gérard Abiton’s influence can be seen in several generations of guitarists — including familiar faces from this very series such as Antoine Boyer, Roxane Elfasci and Édith Pageaud.

At Knobloch, we’re also working with Gérard on a project that means a lot to us, and we hope to share it very soon.

Hay músicos que dejan huella no solo por lo que tocan, sino también por todo lo que transmiten.

KNOBLOCH ENCOUNTERS · EDITH PAGEAUD 🎸

Edith Pageaud’s path with the guitar hasn’t been a straight line — and maybe that’s part of what makes it so interesting.

After studying with Gérard Abiton in Paris, she stepped away from music for a time to explore humanities and philosophy before finding her way back to the guitar. Today, performance, teaching and her own arrangements all meet in a very personal musical voice.

An afternoon shared with Édith at Paul Beuscher ( @paul.beuscher ), among music, conversations and encounters with fellow guitarists.

El camino de Edith Pageaud con la guitarra no ha sido precisamente una línea recta, y quizá ahí esté parte de lo interesante de su historia.

Después de estudiar con Gérard Abiton en París, se alejó durante un tiempo de la música para adentrarse en las humanidades y la filosofía, antes de volver a encontrarse con la guitarra. Hoy, interpretación, enseñanza y arreglos propios confluyen en una voz musical muy personal.

Una tarde compartida con Édith en Paul Beuscher ( @paul.beuscher ), entre música, conversaciones y encuentros con otros guitarristas.
