Last week, we had the joy of opening Knots of Time: Marriage Then and Now at the National Library Building (Plaza), as part of Singapore Art Week 2026. The exhibition features portraits of married couples, captured over two years by veteran photographer Leong Ka Tai (@leongkatai), tracing how relationships endure, shift, and deepen over time.

Our heartfelt thanks to all the couples who so generously shared their stories, and to Mr Leong for his thoughtful collaboration with DECK. We’re also deeply grateful to everyone who joined us for the opening and took the time to engage with the many narratives woven through the exhibition.

Knots of Time (@knots.of.time) is on view at the National Library Building (Plaza) until 1 Feb 2026. We invite you to spend time with these stories and reflect on how love moves through time 💛.

The exhibition also features an artist talk coming up on 24 Jan, from 2PM to 3.30PM at National Library Building. Register for “Knots of Time: In Conversation with Mr Leong Ka Tai” via the link in our bio! by @knots.of.time

Last night was beautiful, getting to see the participating couples again, some of them with their loved ones, and many others who came by to celebrate the opening of Knots of Time.

We also had the honor of having @sylvialim65 and Quah Kim Song doing a little Q&A as the Guests of Honor. Their portrait and story, along with 40 other couples’, will be up at the National Library Building from now till 1 Feb.

Thank you to @deck_sg and @work.byfactory for all your hard work. Come by and visit! See you all! by @knots.of.time

Veteran photographer Mr Leong Ka Tai (@leongkatai) invites us into his gentle process of noticing, turning toward the quiet intervals between people, time and memory. In Knots of Time: Marriage Then and Now (@knots.of.time), each encounter is approached with a sense of curiosity and care, unfolding through a question that linger: What does it mean to share a life?

Through thoughtful conversation and attentive looking, Leong traces the delicate bonds that hold people together. His portraits become gatherings of light and story, holding space for vulnerability, joy, and the silent work of time. And if you listen closely, you’ll find his creative journey carrying a soundtrack, with the Rolling Stones sneaking into the frame.

Together with Mr Leong, we pause to witness what emerges when we slow down, listen, and consider what lies just beneath the surface of a shared gaze. by @knots.of.time
