The issues that started my love for X-men only 3 year ago… I remember randomly deciding to give this series a shot because I had so many friends talk about how epic the @chrisclearmountain X-men run was. I was never really into X-men before that other than some of the 90s cartoons and the X-men films in the early 2000s. Keep in mind I only started reading comics less than 5 years ago (august will be 5 years) so I had a pretty “late” start to begin with when it comes to finding my love for this run.

Since then it’s led me to starting the Omni X-men show with @johnscomicswith (one of the best human beings I know) where we’ve had TONS of great guests and so many laughs and fun times. This run has given me tremendous joy in my comic experience that I wouldn’t trade for anything. Shoutout to everyone who tunes in each and every week too, we love you! (Rachel Dinners crew) ❤️

It’s even got me into exploring all the more modern X-men series like HoX/PoX and everything else that has come out of Hickman’s stories, all because of these great characters that Claremont introduced to me.

It also helps that I was hooked on the stunning art by Dave Cockrum and later, John Byrne, Terry Austin and so many more.

I also want to shoutout @zappcomics because I got all these books from them throughout the years. High grades and incredible prices! Most of them I acquired through the early days of the pandemic, standing outside flipping through one box at a time as Corry would slide each box across a 6 foot table in their door way so we could be safe and still have the opportunity to shop.

Anyways, just wanted to take some time to share my thoughts on these first few issues.
