Twenty - yes - TWENTY YEARS of marriage; together for 23. Got the best gift: "I think you're smaller (AKA skinnier) today than at our wedding" 😁😘
I know people only post the highlights; not the missed shots, but I assure you it's not all rainbows and puppies.

Welcome to the Family Daphne and Crow!
I was NOT looking for another kitty, but I saw a lady post on Nextdoor about this family of kittens that needed homes. Turns out they were born in the bushes in front of her building on a pretty busy street. I don't know what came over me lol. I sent her a pic of Lenny and Rolo on my lap saying that both of our senior kitties had passed in the last 5 months, and I would be happy with any, but would love to have the black one. She wrote back and asked if I would be interested in two! I couldn't see both in the post. Them hiding on the shelf was the first night last Friday. Them laying on me is my current situation!

Rest In Paradise, Rolo Lucchesi. What a cat!! . After losing Bella 2 years ago, then Lenny five months ago, he was heart broken. Very talkative, you can see him talking in slides 1, 3, 5, 6. He used his 'gift of gab' to be rescued and reunited more than once. #6 was a post on Nextdoor. #7 was when I got him back 100 days later. One of the happiest things ever, after him getting lost in Oakland when we moved there in 2019. As a kitten @rascencio76 rescued him during an epic storm and we brought him home Thanksgiving weekend 2010. He was healthy, almost 30lbs at his prime. He never saw a vet. Always independent, he died at home with me the day before his vet appointment. taken in San Bruno, California by @known_sfc

My beautiful cousin Kathleen Shaini passed away about a week ago and I have been really hesitant to post about it or accept it. I remember her coming home to my Aunt and Uncle and cousins and the sense of glee she brought. A lover of animals, particularly black crows, the day after she died a murder of crows flew directly over my house in the direction of where I last knew her to be living very close by. It lasted at least 10 minutes and I have never seen anything like it in my life. There will be services on Monday and if you know her and want to go please let me know. Well, I finally got my stitches out, but one of the screws broke and is a part of me for good! Two Doctors pulling for 2+ hours with me wide awake and only local anesthesia because it was supposed to take 20 minutes. It has been quite the fiasco of broken bones, torn ligaments, surgery, getting COVID at the hospital, stripped screws, and casts, boots, walkers, and scooters. No more! Phil had to deal with a lot more than usual for the last four and a half months and I am super thankful for him, and having insurance. taken in Kaiser Permanente by @known_sfc

Seventeen years ago today we brought home my special guy Lennox 'Lenny' 'Nard' Lucchesi and a few minutes ago the vet called saying his ashes just arrived. The last couple of years have been rough without his soulmate Bella, but if anyone has ever deserved to be reunited it's them. In pics 5, 6, and 7, you can see that one of them is fresh back from the hospital and all they wanted was each other. This is really not painting a clear picture of how much he meant to the rest of us in the house, and poor Rolo is now the one crying out in grief so I am going to post a few more pictures of them.
