Ahh what a moment unboxing my new book ‘Your Opinion Is Wrong’. It really was quite emotional looking back through this and reflecting on the ‘journey’ of being an artist and all the hard work that’s gone into the past 20 years.

Early bird price €34 until 30th September
After that €39. Link in bio!

I will also be signing copies at the book launch!
@kochxbos
30th September 6-8pm

This book reflects on 20 years of my practice! I have written personal anecdotes and stories reflecting on individual pieces for the first time!

There are incredible contributions from @mollieebarnes @skinderhundal @mizogart @kochxbos and Manon Braat. Thank you so much!

A huge thank you to @skyarts and Bacchus and Apollo and @katebryan_art for making this possible. A special thank you to @kochxbos gallery and publishing for the hours and hours spent making the book beautiful and for supporting me!

Your monthly dose of Dadara: Listen to your heart.

We love his black-and-white line drawings, made with brush and ink. They make you think, question, or shift your perspective just a little.

Amongst all his installations, performances, mindfucks, and paintings, these drawings have been a constant red - or should we say black - thread throughout his career.

MARTINE JOHANNA: A POCKET FULL OF ROCKS

✨ Expo until May 2 ✨

Available works online → link in bio

🌎 worldwide shipping !
.

Step into a vibrant world balancing abstraction and narrative. An exhibition about the invisible weights we carry and what remains unspoken. One that resonates deeply.
.

‘Hide Nothing’
2x2m / 79x79inch / oil on linen
Gallery: @kochxbos
-
I am not meant for the centre.
The spotlight feels wrong at a fundamental level.
Getting all sweaty and panicky.

I prefer to be anonymous, almost insignificant.

Which is a problem,
because this work asks to be seen.
It asks me to be seen.

I would rather hide.
Even if the work isn’t about me,
it still exposes me. It is me.

So I stay quiet.
I don’t explain much.
I don’t show the process.

Because it feels insignificant
or not good enough,
which becomes the same thing.

I paint until it matters to me.
Only then does it feel worthy.

But maybe nothing should be hidden.
Even if it makes me look strange.

Which it will.
Especially with those bags
floating around my legs.
-
This painting will be on view with @kochxbos gallery @kunstrai
-
Thanks to Hans and Esther for giving me the opportunity to exhibit in such a prestigious art fair!
