这本 Zine 开始于我在驻地期间每天早晨的 30 分钟即兴创作。我们每天都以前一天大家完成的作品为灵感，在没有任何主题，材料，形式的限制下进行自由创作。

我把每天的创作持续记录在同一本本子里收集起来。随着创作不断累积，我逐渐发现这些由他人作品引发的、看似独立的即兴图像，也在不知不觉中构成了对驻地生活的记录，其中呈现的内容与情绪，也对应着我在这段驻地生活中的感受。

“风滚草、奔跑和云中的城堡”这三个词语同样来自驻地期间一次共同游戏中的即兴联想。我选择让这三个在创作过程中随机生长出来的词成为 Zine 的题目，使题目也延续了作品本身的创作方式。

This Zine began with 30-minute improvisational drawing sessions that I did every morning during the residency. Each day, we created freely, taking inspiration from the works made by everyone the day before, without any restrictions on theme, materials, or form.

I kept recording each day’s work in the same notebook, gradually collecting them into one body of work. As the drawings accumulated, I began to realize that these seemingly independent images, sparked by the works of others, were also quietly becoming a record of my life at the residency. The subjects and emotions that emerged reflected my own experiences and feelings throughout this period.

“Dandelion Tumbleweed, Running, and Castles in the Clouds” were three words that came from an improvisational association game we played together during the residency. I chose these three spontaneously generated words as the title of the Zine, allowing the title itself to continue the same process of chance and improvisation that shaped the work.

“play on the world instrument
with rocks and everything else you can

bring over the gate
feel diaphragms of caverns blowing breves below a

figure, a fugue, a centrifuge
to spin apart in, pine away in, pin a balance off

and up and past the pool
and standing water

meditating deep on what it is
to be held still, grow green

play on the abrupt,
the spangle, shadows shod

in eyes shone black in strings
hung from the rain, and

compose oneself an introit for
the world onto the stave”

Meet YINGFAN ZHANG — a visual artist who graduated from Hongik University in South Korea with a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Design. She is currently working as an illustrator, with a practice centred on illustration and experimental hand-drawn 2D animation.

In her work, she maintains a constant curiosity about the world around her, seeking to capture the hidden beauty that lies beneath the surface of nature. Through different mediums, she aims to give visual form to abstract philosophical concepts such as life, emotion, and the intangible, and to convey stories and feeling through the relationships between images.

During her residency at Hillhaus, Zhang hopes to channel her understanding of the theme of peace into a visual analysis and translation of nature through hand-drawn experimental animation, sharing this reflection with the audience through the work that emerges.

有一段时间里，我也不知道自己为什么要散步，也不知道该走向哪里，但我总是觉得我应该向前走，不能停下，一直走。
偶然一次，我注意到脚边生长的一株杂草，第一次觉得它竟然很可爱。从那以后，每次散步，我都会去观察这些杂草。它们比想象中更美，透着晶亮的光芒。尤其是雨后，杂草因雨滴而闪闪发亮，仿佛在发光。穿过深深的树林，抬头，我看到了无比美丽的落日。
