Here’s a little recap of week one of our toddler journal 📓

We focused on the letter A and number 0, with lots of opportunities to practise fine motor skills through dot markers, dot stickers, gluing, and colouring.

We didn’t quite get through our winter-themed learning pages during week one, but we’ll be working through those this week. Stay tuned for Week 2 of our toddler journal!

I’m a Type A mum who loves to plan ahead.

I know our homeschool days won’t always be perfect, but having things prepared helps create a sense of calm for me too. It’s not just about making things easier for the kids — it’s about helping me feel more present and less overwhelmed throughout our days.

These are just a few things I’ve prepared for our first little season of homeschooling. I’m sure there are things I’ve missed, so I’d love to hear from the homeschooling mums… what are your must-haves or things that have made your days easier?

Week 6 of our toddler journal highlights 🐙✨

This week we explored the letter f, number 5, diamond shapes and the colour purple through simple, learning activities 💜

We trialled paint sticks instead of crayons, and they’re definitely easier and quicker for little hands to colour with! We’re now starting our second notebook, keeping this one just for our weekly learning.

A little look at Week 1 of our Transport & Movement At Home Kit from Little Big School 🚗

We explored three activities from the On the Road activity: making our own car, matching numbers at the car park, and setting up a little muddy car wash!

With a 2 and 5 year old, I love finding activities they can enjoy in their own ways. A lovely way to make at home activities easier throughout the week, while learning through play ✨

I’m always intentional about what we bring into our home, especially our playroom ✨

A little pink-on-pink moment because of course she had to choose the pink Bilibo Midi 💗

Miss 2 is absolutely obsessed with these and somehow manages to find a new way to enjoy them every day. I love having open-ended play pieces like this in our playroom because they encourage independent and creative play without needing much direction.

So when I caught her sitting here matching the pink one… I had to snap a photo.

Pink is definitely a favourite around here.

OCTOBER SHELF ROTATION 🪵✨

This month I’m trying something a little different and putting all of our wooden resources out for easy access as we head into the last term of the year.

I’ve spent years researching and collecting quality wooden resources that I know we’ll be able to use for years, so I really want to make the most of them for our everyday learning.

For now, I’m trialling having everything out rather than rotating each month… we’ll see how it goes!

These are just some of the resources we’ll have ready to grab and use this month.
