Michelin-recommended dining in Coral Gables! 🍽️

I recently visited @kojinmiami for their eight-course Discovery Tasting Menu, and what an experience!

Created by husband-and-wife chefs Pedro and Katherine Mederos, Kojin brings together modern American cuisine with Japanese flavors and techniques, creating a dining experience full of unexpected combinations, beautiful presentations, and plenty of creativity.

From the refreshing Junmai-cured wahoo crudo to their playful take on a Cuban Medianoche, every course brought something different to the table. The black grouper with coconut curry and chorizo crumbles was another standout for me!

🍽️ TWO TASTING MENU OPTIONS:
✨ 8-Course Discovery Tasting Menu — $125 per person
✨ 5-Course Classic Tasting Menu — $75 per person (Wednesdays & Thursdays only)

Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking to try something new, Kojin is definitely worth adding to your list!

This spot in Coral Gables is such a great hidden gem 🤩

@kojinmiami is a Michelin-recommended restaurant serving very creative modern American cuisine with Japanese influences in an intimate, non-stuffy setting.

We tried the Discovery Tasting Menu, and every course had something unique and unexpected. Watch all the way through for the full scoop on the dishes, pricing, vibe, and our whole dining experience ✨

Starting Sept. 20, Kojin will be taking a short end-of-summer break for the next two weeks so our team can recharge, seek out a little inspiration, and return ready to take care of you.

We’ll reopen on Wednesday, October 7 for regular service:

Wednesday – Sunday 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Saturday Brunch 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Thank you, as always, for your support and for helping Kojin become the kind of neighborhood restaurant we always dreamed of building. We can’t wait to welcome you back soon.

With love,
Pedro, Katherine & the Kojin team taken in Kojin by @kojinmiami

You’ve blown us away with your support! Thank you to everyone who came for the release of our newest tasting menu this evening!
So many of you showed up, sat down and experienced the menu we’ve been tirelessly working on for months. We’re taking tomorrow to recoup, adjust a few things, and starting on Friday the tasting menu will be available for everyone throughout the week! taken in Kojin by @kojinmiami

Miami Spice at @kojinmiami might be one of the ones I’d actually go back for 👀

The menu felt thoughtful, the flat iron was the standout, and ending with that carrot cake was the right move.

Put Kojin on the list before Miami Spice is over. 🤍

Quick breakdown por si no sabían 👇

🌟 One star = “A very good restaurant in its category”

📍Design District

Lunch at COTE, here is what we’d order:

• Steak Tartare — Local grass-fed top-round, pear, crispy tendon puffs.

• COTE’s Limited Edition Fried Chicken — Organic chicken brined overnight and fried to crispy perfection, with pickled daikon and sweet & tangy sauce.

• Butcher’s Lunch (+$29 per person) — USDA Prime Hanger Steak, 45+ Days Dry-Aged Ribeye, Marinated Galbi, served with kimchi stew and egg soufflé. We’re usually not into an upcharge on Miami Spice, but this one is still a pretty great deal.

(The Butcher’s Feast is normally $82 per person at dinner; here, you’re paying $69 total and also getting an appetizer, not including tax and gratuity.)

my biggest toxic trait when going out to eat? I literally want to order everything on the menu 😅

I walked into Kojin 2.0 with total menu anxiety, but Chef Pedro completely shattered every stuffy fine dining stereotype. He literally just handed me a sharpie and said, “Tell me what you want.” It was so uncomplicated, unpretentious, and exactly what I needed.

While almost everything we stacked up was from their $65 Miami Spice dinner menu, I fully admit I had to go a little rogue and order a few extras. Chef has been in the industry a long time, and this Michelin Recommended menu is hyper-seasonal based on daily availability. When you see a Japanese-American dish you love here, you have to order it, because you genuinely never know if you’ll ever get the chance to have it again.

From the perfectly tender steak to Pastry Chef Katrina’s iconic carrot cake, this husband-and-wife duo is completely dominating the food game. It’s top-tier dining that refuses to be complicated.

Secure your res before the season ends!
