It took me a while to post this picture… Paradoxically, my holiday turned out to be more of a challenge when it came to posting regularly, let alone painting… I suppose I do need a routine after all 😆 (though not daily work tasks – no, but that’s not something you can't change so easily). Here you can see a waxwing – painted from a photograph in the book "The Joy of Birds" by @moseplassen 🐦. You’ll find loads of tips there on how to attract birds to your garden – as well as some stunning photographs ♥️ The book’s next in my reading queue (and I’ve also got loads of ideas for new pictures queued up in my head!)

I was only just beginning my adventure with sketchbooks. I’d draw a bit in one, a bit in another, and quite casually it would usually end with just one drawing.
Later, these sketchbooks ended up being used as notepads at work – and that was the case with this one too. But before it was demoted to the role of a notepad, this little picture was created.
And in it – a seemingly ordinary scene: two ladies chatting outside a bookshop on an autumn street in Warsaw, the setting somewhat reminiscent of the 1970s.
But look at what’s going on in the bookstore window!
Perhaps you’ll be able to spot the covers of my favourite records and illustrated books!
I’m looking at this illustration three years after drawing it and I can spot the vinyl covers of Nick Cave, Ben Howard, Stromae, Roo Panes record and even GOSKA! And amongst the books I find:

There was a time when I painted this, when watercolours were my (evening) life! Here’s a painting I did 9 years ago (!) – not only does it add to my gallery of pictures in the living room, but it also featured in the music video for my song "Remont w głowie" ("Renovation of the Mind", @goskamusic ), which I painted and animated myself! I certainly won’t be giving up my new love, Neocolor 2, but I think it’s time to pick up a brush and get back to watercolours!

It’s so hot! Spending entire days wandering through Tuscan towns or Venice is an experience I’ve been waiting for for a long time. It’s absolutely beautiful! I keep carrying my sketchbook and crayons everywhere, hoping to draw something, but either there’s no time or... it’s just too hot!!! The heat just drains your energy and willpower. That’s why I’m posting this here - to remind myself of the cool shade under the chestnut tree where I sketched this scene, even on the hottest days! (And yes, Neocolor 2 crayons were back in action!)

Let's celebrate International Cat Day! This is Wally! I painted him 8 (!) years ago. It's thanks to Wally that I first visited Italy - while his owners were moving from Lecce to Malta, I took care of him... and went sightseeing around Puglia!
By the way - I love cats ❤️ And even though I've had dogs recently, sometimes I miss those soft little bodies and purring 💔

One of my goals is to keep painting the same subject over and over again - that’s why you’ve seen so many fish here lately! I found a book on aquarium fish in my home library, and the ones from my previous post were actually in there too. I still have so many species left to explore - the underwater world is incredibly diverse and fascinating! The fish on the left came from just playing around with colors freely - it started with colorful blobs... and ended up looking a bit like a Moorish idol.

Years ago, I painted a seahorse in watercolors - it’s still one of my favorite pieces, so ethereal... Fast forward just 8 years - and I decided to take another shot at it, this time with Neocolors. No transparency here, just rich, solid coverage!

I love nature-related themes (as you've probably noticed 😉), and the underwater world is just magical - it keeps pulling me in... 🌊

My fascination with #Neocolors continues: I love the coverage, the vibrant colors, and birds, of course ;) Featured here: a #waxwing! Summer evenings, free from the pressure of the kids' school routines, are a bit more relaxed and give me the chance to reach for pencils or paints every day (yes, every single day!). I hope this time lasts as long as possible!

I've wanted to join the #walktosee challenge initiated by @helenstephenspal but somehow I always end up painting and drawing at night and at my desk 😉so I never had a good opportunity. But finally - here we are! A simple sketch of my summer cottage. I almost used the #walktoseepeopleonphones hashtag, but my subject ran away and was replaced by the dog 🦮 taken in Poland by @kokkuart

I’ve captured another memory in my sketchbook – this time, a hot summer afternoon from 2025 on Nanjing Road in Shanghai.

My trip to China last year was the absolute adventure of a lifetime, and I truly hope to go back someday ♥️ What about you? What’s your favorite vacation memory?

W ubiegłym roku pojechałam do Chin i była to najwspanialsza wyprawa życia - mam nadzieję, że tam wrócę ♥️

[PL👇] I’m spending the weekend in the countryside. I wake up early and move to a chair on the porch for my last hour of sleep. And I just listen to the birds singing... identifying them using the MerlinID app. That’s how I found out that at various moments throughout the morning, there were blue tits, barn swallows, thrushes, blackcaps, redstarts, collared doves, chaffinches, hawfinches, and others around. Back in 2024, I drew a few of the birds I heard in my sketchbook using brush pens. In the picture: a chaffinch, a song thrush, a blackcap, a collared dove, and a common redstart. And finally – a photo of a jay feather found in the garden. There is also a bird story from yesterday: a black redstart flew into my house – luckily for him, I managed to guide him safely back outside ♥️

Weekend spędzam na wsi. Budzę się wcześnie i na ostatną godzinę snu przeprowadzam się na fotel na ganku. I słucham śpiewu ptaków... rozpoznając je za pomocą aplikacji MerlinID. I tak oto dowiedziałam się, że w różnych momentach poranka w mojej okolicy były modraszka, dymówka, drozd, kapturka, pleszka, sierpówka, zięba, grubodziób i inne. Kilka ptaków, które słyszalam, narysowałam brushpenami w 2024 roku w moim szkicowniku. Na obrazku: zięba, drozd śpiewak, Kapturka, sierpówka i pleszka. A na koniec - zdjęcie pióra sójki znalezione w ogrodzie. Z ptakami wiąże się też historia z wczoraj: do domu wleciał mi kopciuszek - na szczęście dla niego udało mi się go wyprowadzić na zewnątrz ♥️
