If all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights, why can't we be allowed to pursue our studies in many European countries that are welcoming others with arms wide open? The blood that flows in our veins is the same. Our pain is not in vain. We fled the same war. We suffer the same psychological damages as Ukrainians. Ukraine was our home. Ukraine was our hope and the hope of many of our families who sacrificed all that they had to help us thrive, in hope that one day, we would be able to return and give back.

Many of us have faced racism and discrimination not only at the borders while crossing, but every single day as we fight for an equal right to pursue our education and to start over again elsewhere.
Education is a human right! In fact, this human right represents the Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4), which aims to "ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all." This should include us and other visible minorities fleeing the war in Ukraine.

Our current treatment since the beginning of the war is a direct violation of some of their fundamental human rights.

For "human rights are universal and inalienable, indivisible, interdependent and interrelated", we ask that the United Nations reminds ALL nations that ALL people fleeing the war in Ukraine deserve an equal treatment, compassion, understanding, care, dignity, respect and chance to move forward in a peaceful, fair and prosperous environment because the Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which states that "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights; that they are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood"; was written for all human beings and not just for what some call "the majority".
