Blessed to see 30 years of life 🎈Those who know me, have an idea of what I been through. Twenties was something else. Felt like the four seasons but that didn’t break me. I’m wise and I’m better. I feel a lot of favor in my life and a peace like never before now. Everything I dreamt of as a kid, I did. Been still & letting God use me, God lead me and I credit that to my peace of mind/joy. Happy to get a chance to show you guys one of the projects I worked on in the past few months. Been a season reaping & sowing but I’m glad I’m capable to withstand the seasons. This is a dope Idea @illbrill came to me about last fall. She knows I’m into the surrealism/art direction type feels. Each room symbolized a part of her story. The oldies for the early mornings when her mom would make breakfast for the family, the choir for the faith walk she’s taking, the friends and dancers etc. Definitely was a challenge but we made something great. Thank you to my support/my crew 🙏🏽 2025 was taxing but you guys helped me take this next step. CONTROLLED CHAOS (2022)Through observing art, music, photography, and my peers, I developed my own creative approach to film. The concept for Controlled Chaos came from seeing contrast in Derek @dgarlington_creates , a martial arts teacher who also practices sound baths and yoga. The mix of aggression and peace inspired me to write a script with the theme of Yin and Yang. Instead of the typical soft, airy yoga scenes, I reversed what is normal by placing serenity in rough, grungy environments. The contrast of white in chaotic settings and black in peaceful spaces highlights that meditation and calm can exist anywhere.Beyond that, picture 10 made this project means a lot more to me. I think i started this project at the end of my first year in Los Angeles, this was a self funded project. All my friends showed up and supported me to get this vision off. I don’t like the idea of asking for help but I did and they came through and that went a long way for me. Throughout my life, I’ve had the opportunity to meet every person I idolized as a child. Growing up, these figures, second only to God, were my North Star—the ones I modeled my game and attitude after. I vividly remember going to an SMU vs. Memphis game and seeing Derrick Rose play. In that moment, I became a fan. It felt like I had discovered him, and from then on, he was *that guy*. His swagger on the court carried straight into the league. That was 16 years ago. Fast forward to today, and here he is, introducing himself to me at the front door like I don’t already know who he is. Talk about a full-circle moment. It’s been a while since I’ve felt star-struck.I’m grateful to be a part of this project. Whether I’m behind the camera running point, or simply lighting up a room, it’s an honor. Contributing to such a pivotal moment in one of the GOAT’s lives has made the experience even more worthwhile.Shoutout to my team for making this a dope experience! Blessed to get the opportunity to work on this campaign for @nike & @serenawilliams back in February. Amazing vibes and great people to be around, it’s always a confidence boost when you go places that you feel welcomed at. Cliente had a solid plan and we executed. Can’t wait to give you all a recap of this year.
