I Had to Stop Opening Pokémon Cards…

⚠️ Mental health

The best way I cope with my mental health is through humor and of course, Pokémon! Now it’s medication. 🤩 There have been a few times in my adult life where I turned to overconsumption when I’ve been at my lowest. People choose substances, and I chose Pokémon cards. I used to pour money into it like it was church. A few moments of light in a world so dark… it really took the joy out of what I love so much, but I got help! Not because of my Pokémon addiction 🫨 but for my mental health. Now I don’t chase hits for serotonin. The hits chase me!

Just a personal glimpse into my world if anyone reads these. I’ll be able to elaborate on this topic more in detail for a video because I think it’s important to spread awareness of mental health. I know we’re in a hobby space, but we are people behind it. I care about my people. 🧡

It’s Not Just About Ripping Packs… It’s the Community

I have managed to curate an amazing algorithm of my favorite corners of the Pokémon hobby. These corners wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for my fellow creators and their communities. I have been welcomed into spaces where I’m able to be expressive and genuinely myself. Having that comfort in mind, it’s easier for me to be creative when I have nothing holding me back. No, it’s not. I sometimes feel embarrassed when my content reaches my inner circles. 🫪 A friendly reminder, not a dig: your closest friends might not be your biggest supporters initially. Find community and let your light shine. Feeling embarrassed or anxious is another way of feeling excited. Lead with joy, and eventually, people like me will see your light.

BTS as a Pokémon Content Creator! 🤩

One of my favorite parts about filming content is the outtakes and the unpolished moments you don’t see a lot of the time. I love to put a snippet of a blooper or candid moment at the end of most of my videos. I felt inspired by that to start a BTS series where I can just edit down those moments and have fun with it. Aside from Pokémon, I LOVE video production! Hire me? 🫪 I do love acting a fool for the camera too… 🤣🃏🙇🏻‍♂️

Day 1 of opening Pokémon cards for the first time…

PSA (Pokémon Service Announcement): Only you can prevent overconsumption.

I know for myself that I can get carried away in the hype of ripping packs. It’s important to have balance, but first and foremost, to have fun. Lately, I’ve been turning to the community more to experience different sides of this hobby beyond just ripping packs, and it’s been wonderful! IMO there should be more representation outside of chasing hits and making a quick buck. 🙇🏻‍♂️🧡

The Pokémon regret we all share… 😅

I have so many memories of Pokémon in my childhood, but unfortunately, I don’t have everything to show for it. Having a split family and moving around a lot then and as an adult, those things got misplaced, donated, sold at yard sales, and so on. I cherish what I’ve been able to hold onto and the memories I have and ones I’m making 🤗🧡🙇🏻‍♂️

I’m going to my first card show! 🤗 Tips on what I should expect or look out for?

I’m so excited to meet up with the local community and experience this show for the first time.
