"Chiyuv does not give us a radius. It asks us to relinquish the fantasy that we can determine that radius entirely for ourselves. We do not get to decide in advance that the people beyond the circles we have drawn can ask nothing of us. " - Rabbi Lizzie Horne Mozes, Rosh Hashanah Day 2, 5787 by @koltzedek

Shabbat Zimra is back in 5787, and now it’s monthly!! We will kick off next week with the first of the year, on Friday night Oct 2nd.

Join us once a month for Shabbat Zimra, an immersive musical journey through Kabbalat Shabbat and Maariv. Led by the amazing Rachel Chang and Aly Halpert, musicians will guide us with voice, guitar, drums, and more– sing your way into Shabbat, make new friends, and experience kedusha, a sense of deep holiness.

This year’s first Shabbat Zimra will take place after the New Member Orientation & Veggie Potluck in the Sukkah! If you’re new to KT, join us in the Sukkah at 5pm, and then in the sanctuary at 6:30pm for services. by @koltzedek

This is the season to return and begin again. A time to praise, grieve, release and renew. We hope you will join us to welcome 5787 in person and on zoom, and invite family and friends!

KT’s high holidays theme this year is From the Four Corners of the Earth: Our Diaspora Stories.

As a community we contain a multitude of ancestral and spiritual lineages, Jewish and beyond. This year we'll hear about the many people and places we come from: stories and reflections on migration, survival, multicultural heritages, conversion, reclamation, home and diaspora. What we carry with us from the four corners of the earth shapes who we are and what we bring to this community today. Where do we come from, and what are we building together?

We can’t wait to sing, pray, learn, grow, heal, change, and enter the new year in community. ✨Link in bio to register✨

And thanks to the amazing @esivitz at @nireh_or_art for the graphic. by @koltzedek

Join us for our favorite night of the year! A late night, candle-lit, immersive musical overture of the Days of Awe, featuring the music of @drkbfrazier, @rachel.chang.395, @alhalpal, @leahmiller28, @kendraelwa, @leolevine22, @ddsternn, Doug Chermak, @dancingmobot, and YOU!

Selichot are ancient prayers that plead for forgiveness, express our deep longings, and offer a container for our desires to change. We do this powerful work in loving community, in melody and harmony, in songs ancient and new, in sacred circles of repentance and possibility.

This service will take place both in person & online. Saturday, September 5, meditation at 9pm, and singing starting at 9:15pm ET. Details and locations can be found on the Kol Tzedek website, www.kol-tzedek.org ❤️ by @koltzedek
