very excited to announce my next curatorial project, poodle soup! as part of the 2026 IA Current program, i was given the opportunity to curate a group exhibition for InterAccess’s gallery space :))

the show explores absurdism and how we can bring play into our current worldviews to welcome life’s illogical nature. featuring the incredible: James Rollo, Mad Holl, Perspekt Collective, Shihab Mian, and Yusuf Shamma.

located at 32 Lisgar St, the opening reception will be Nov 4th 2026 from 7-9PM - with shenanigans by @joy.provision :) open hours to follow until Dec 5th, 11-6PM from Tuesday-Saturday.

BACK WITH ANOTHER OPEN CALL! YUP! I’m so excited and grateful to be curating the 2026 IA Current exhibition :)

Play, by its very nature, resists fixed definition. Being playful allows us to disarm the stakes that make understanding systems intimidating. Within new media, it means technologies pushing towards uses they weren’t built for; players trying a nonsensical way of being; and communities responding outside of existing systems. The methodology of play behaves almost as a generative rehearsal, in which we’re able to explore ideas and participate in a time and place that doesn’t yet exist.

We invite submissions of new media works that are process-driven, chaotic, colourful, and nonsensical. Submitted works should examine the notion of what play means in artists’ lives and how it is impacted or upheld through technology. We encourage a variety of media, including but not limited to kinetic sculpture, net art, performance, multimedia installations, sound art, games, etc.

Questions for consideration:
- how can comedy, irony, and make-belief create space for intentionality and criticism?
- how does community driven means of learning (like open-source code, maker culture, hacking, speed running, glitching, etc.) support play?
- is it possible to play alongside our machines?
- is boredom a prerequisite for play?
- how can we bring play into our adult lives?

& this is a paid opportunity @ CARFAC rates! The show will run for the month of November.

Resonant Glimpse is an installation created by Angelina Almanza and Komal Lally that will be exhibited as part of Nuit Blanche 2026. An immersive environment of delicate hanging structures, generative song and encompassing, reactive projections allow you to shape the surroundings for those who come after.

NOTE ** paper kits are limited edition! They will be dropped by the hour on the hour.

InterAccess is pleased to announce the selection of emerging curator Komal Lally for the 2026 IA Current program. Lally will curate a group exhibition taking place in InterAccess’s gallery in Fall 2026 examining how exploration, tinkering, and play can be used to reimagine an “otherwise” future for our technology.

The call for artworks will open in the coming weeks.

🪁 ABOUT THE CURATOR
Komal Lally is an emerging interdisciplinary artist and curator based in Tkaronto.

Her artistic practice is material focused, valuing experimentation and exploration. Currently, she is interested in working (or fighting) with light materials, like paper and fabric, to create immersive environments. In her curatorial work, she aims to uplift the idea that technology should be for everyone through well-meant nonsense and irony. Encouraging curiosity and creation over credentialism, she wants to make room to play. Lally aims to create ongoing spaces of encounter, dedicated to working with and in service of artists, creating works that feel honest, responsive, and warm.

Lally has a BFA in New Media from Toronto Metropolitan University, founded NEXT (New Media Exhibition Team) and machines of collective, and has shown with The Creative School, Little Robot Friends, Art Gallery of Ontario’s Art Bash, and Nuit Blanche (forthcoming).

🪁 ABOUT IA CURRENT
The InterAccess Current (IA Current) program supports the professional development of emerging curators and artists interested in new media and electronic practices. Each year, InterAccess selects an emerging curator, who works closely with InterAccess staff to conceptualize and execute an exhibition of works by emerging artists. “Current” refers to the now, of course, but it is also an energetic charge that causes light, heat and all manner of electronic life; an apt metaphor for emergent creative practices within the ever-expanding field of new media.

i am very excited to announce that my first (independently) curated exhibition - i see myself and no one in millions of other systems - opens on june 5th! this show focuses on a redefinition of identity through online spheres, and features 7 incredible artists over a variety of mediums.

opening reception: june 5th, 7-10pm

hi guys! i am curating an exhibition and am looking for artworks :) “i see myself and no one in millions of other systems” will be a show focusing on a redefinition of identity and how it is navigated through online presence. (to read the full curatorial statement, visit the google form!)

→ deadline: March 1st, 11:59pm, 2026
→ submitting and exhibiting is free. artists may also sell work with no commission taken, and a small marketplace will be available to place additional works for purchase during the exhibition.
→ you can submit up to 3 artworks for consideration.
→ open to artists of all levels, as well as collectives.
→ looking for new media art (electronics work, kinetic sculpture, net art, video games, etc.). but this is an open call, so other mediums are welcome and will be equally considered if it fits the theme.
→ completed works are preferred; however, well-developed concepts and WIPs will be considered (with proof of prior projects).

the show will be held at Little Robot Friends (Toronto, ON) as part of a pilot program for new media exhibitions and related programming. it will be held in the first half of june.

residua and remnants! exhibited the cyanotype animation i was working on at the end of july - i hope to expand on it soon!!
