The Mix+Match Studio wrapped up with full-scale fabricated display modules that brought together all previous research and experimentation. A key element was a collaboration with ChaShaMa, @chashama where students proposed exhibition layouts for “Where Water Meets Industry,” an upcoming group show opening June 2026, positioning these micro architectures as vehicles for public engagement.

Mix + Match Advanced Design Studio is structured in different parts.

In the Analysis Part, students examined groundbreaking exhibition designs and analyzed them through their materiality and construction logic. Then they investigated how these micro-architectures are disassembled, reassembled, and reinterpreted across different contexts.

“Mix + Match” is a fabrication intensive Advanced Design Studio within RISD’s Exhibitions and Narrative Environments Program, emphasizing lightness and adaptability in design through the lens of traveling exhibitions. Students examined groundbreaking exhibition designs; analyzed them through their materiality and construction logic and develop their own display systems through iterative prototyping and 1:1 scale fabrication. @risdintar
