Ash is the best. It’s always been big laughs & fun nights for the 15(?!) years we’ve known each other. It was about time she took me for a tour of her local Leyton. Ft Stan!

“If you spent all your 20s in Hackney then Leytonstone can feel like you’re heading to Scottish Hebrides however it’s actually not that far and can be a refreshing sanctuary of calmness away from all the fun. We’re surrounded by big open green spaces such as the flats, Epping Forest, pretty Wanstead Park and Hollow Ponds if you fancy hiring a boat; perfect if you like running or have a dog!

There’s new hidden gems popping up all the time and the community here is really inclusive; so I was very excited to take Ross to my favourite places. Award winning restaurant Singburi has a huge cult following and I’m no different from the rest of the queue - the food and atmosphere is 10/10 but in classic Singburi style - we couldn’t get a table. We headed Dina’s for a wine.

You can’t beat Dina, the welcoming and cosy atmosphere is like walking into your best mates living room. Wines are of low intervention, working with small scale importers. Ran by the famous Callum, who everyone wants to be their best friend

If you like spice head to Wanstead Kitchen. The service is great and the onion Bhajis are unreal; very tasty bit. Theres only two tables so again you feel like you’re in a pretty special secret spot.

Favourite coffee spot, unfortunately not pictured, has to go to ‘Back to Ours’ and I couldn’t complete our tour without mentioning a pub; head to The North Star for a proper boozer”
