It’s been a busy summer. Planes, studios, locations, early calls, late wraps. Future Glory has been humming. We’ve been making a lot of work, with a lot of good people, in a lot of different places.

Looking back through the photos, that might be the thing that stands out most. The work takes us places. It brings remarkable people into our lives. Our clients give us the opportunity to make things, tell stories, put talented people to work and spend our days doing something we genuinely love.

There’s a lot of work here. But there’s a lot of life in it too.

Earlier this month, I lost my closest friend.

For nearly twenty years, Lou Maxon helped shape the person I became. He changed how I see design, craft and storytelling. He challenged me, trusted me, laughed with me, opened doors for me and, in many ways, helped build the foundation of Kontent Partners. His fingerprints are everywhere in my life, and because of that, they’re everywhere in this company too.

People will know Lou in different ways. They’ll know the creative leader, the designer, the storyteller, the writer, the connector. I knew all of those versions too.
But I knew the friend.

When I met Lou in late 2008, Kontent Partners was still in its infancy. I walked into his office expecting to meet a creative director. I walked out having met someone who would fundamentally change the way I thought about creativity.
Looking back, that was my design school.

I’m not a designer, but Lou taught me how to think like one. He taught me that craft is care. That details matter. That curiosity is something to protect. That great work comes from people who care deeply enough to keep asking, “Can this be better?”
There isn’t a corner of my life where I don’t see his influence. I see it in how I approach a story, in the work I gravitate toward and in the standards I try to uphold. Lou helped shape me. Because he helped shape me, he helped shape Kontent Partners.

I still can’t quite believe he’s gone.

But every day I see pieces of him in this company, in the work we do, and in the way I look at the world.

The April issue of KP’s monthly newsletter COPY focused on music and featured a Collab from the Kennedy’s X. Sharing here the beautiful video they created inspired by Yoshitomo Nara.

Directed by Candy Kennedy, with Mark Sherman behind the camera, and Eugene Jho styling this piece builds on a simple premise and pushes into something more layered, more intentional.

“For this piece, we wanted to create a cocktail film that felt visually beautiful on the surface, but carried a deeper emotional tension underneath. We drew inspiration from Yoshitomo Nara’s world — particularly the contrast between innocence and unrest — and used that as the foundation for the visual language of the film. The palette was built around colors we felt echoed that tension, while the reference to snow came from his childhood and became a symbolic element throughout the piece. We also used war-inspired sound cues as transitions, bringing in a subtle sense of disruption and memory beneath the elegance of the drink film. One of our favorite moments is the snowflake resting on the cocktail, which then pulls back to reveal the red circle against white — a quiet visual nod to the Japanese flag. The goal was to make something that felt poetic, slightly unsettling, and refined: a cocktail portrait shaped by beauty, history, and contradiction.” -Candy Kennedy by @kontentpartners

This was a seriously cool project.

Prime Air brought together ultra fast drone delivery, new technology, evolving messaging, and a lot of moving parts, the kind of project where clarity matters as much as the creative itself.
