From watching my mom bake cakes as a kid, to starting a home-based business in 2023, to quitting my corporate job and opening the doors to our very first store last year- it’s been a dream come true 💫Quick story: Before making the biggest decision of starting my own bakery, I sat in the middle of the commercial space with my eyes closed. I envisioned Kookie Bites in that very place—its future, its growth, and all the potential it held. I could almost see the counter, the baked goods, and the community it would serve. My dad built the pink counter using scrap wood, borrowed my mom’s 5.5-quart mixer for the first few months, bought a 3-cubic-foot chest freezer from marketplace, and used my acrylic showcases instead of splurging on a brand-new bakery display. I also borrowed the landlord’s oven and fridge. I wasn’t financially ready to start a business, but I knew Kookie Bites was meant for something greater. With a leap of faith, a lot of hustle, and making do with what I had, I took the plunge. Every little piece of the puzzle came together with creativity and resourcefulness, and I couldn’t be more proud of how far we’ve come. This journey hasn’t been easy but thank you for allowing us to make mistakes and giving us chance to make it right. Thank you for allowing me and Kookie Bites grow.
