Terra. Pele. Comunidade.
Um corpo chama outro corpo.
Nasce um “corcoletivo”
Ninguém dança só.
Dançar é pertenSER.
O ritmo organiza.
É estrutura social.
Convoca, orienta, sustenta.
A dança africana é museu, é tecnologia ancestral!!!

This tune is called Kaira, which means Peace! There is so much war in the world right now, makes it hard to even know where to look, sometimes even what to think..!
When in doubt, look within.. may we never forget that the first casualty in ANY war is the Truth! 🙏🏼May we have our eyes and heart open enough to realise that the real war being waged now is not between specific “sides” but between Good and Evil.
May we realise that most of us are waging a war within, a war against ourselves.. may we all forgive ourselves so that we can forgive others! ❤️
May we always take the side of Peace, Kaira 🙏🏼 taken in Faro, Algarve, Portugal by @korakan.pt

Packing up for Aldeia Djembe Camp where I will be teaching the Kora, playing Balafon for the dance workshops and maybe some drumming if necessary!
Had to make a pit stop before packing the Kora and decided to make this video.
The tune is called Kobe na Touma (aka Dia Banna), “Everything has it’s time”.
I have a very strong connection to this tune, mainly on the Balafon. Some of the notes played here I ended up transposing from the Bala to the kora.
It’s a lovely tune that carries a beautiful message of Love, Hope, Patience and trust in the Divine! 🙏🏼❤️
All that is ment for us will arrive in due time! 🙏🏽 May we never give up on our dreams!! taken in Faro, Algarve, Portugal by @korakan.pt

Saying goodbye to these two beautiful Koras, each starting it’s own journey 🥺🙏🏽
This tune is called Tita (aka Titati/ Salama). It’s probably my favourite tune from one of the best Kora albums ever recorded ❤️🙏🏽
It is far from perfect but I decided to put it out there anyway.
May our mistakes become stepping stones towards better versions of ourselves! ❤️ taken in Faro - Algarve, Portugal by @korakan.pt
