Today me and my co-founder @korbindeposits sat down with @12onyourside to tell the story of @pifclubva , and I couldn’t help but think about where this started. During my sobriety journey, I was just looking for somewhere positive to put my energy. I made one Instagram post telling people to meet me at Broad Rock Park. Eight people showed up. Less than six months later, we’re seeing up to 120 people a week, across three locations in Richmond. No blueprint. No big budget. Just faith, consistency, community, and a belief that God was leading us somewhere bigger than ourselves.

This isn’t just working out anymore. People are getting stronger physically, mentally and spiritually. People who didn’t know each other are becoming family. And none of this happens without our captains, Korbin, every person who shows up, and everybody who has donated or believed in us. I can’t build this alone.

We’re working toward a truck for our equipment and eventually a gym…a real home for this community. So if you believe in what we’re building, donate, connect us with resources, or simply share our story. Every dollar and every connection helps us serve somebody else.

Sometimes God doesn’t show you the whole plan. He just tells you to start. We started with 8. Look what God did with it. And we’re just getting started. 🖤

I came up with the idea for for our Group, but I knew early I couldn’t build this all by myself. @korbindeposits was there from the beginning showing up, bringing equipment, bringing knowledge, putting work in before we even knew what this could become. I remember telling him, “Bro, I know I can do this, but I need you with me. This yours too.” At first he was hesitant, and I understood why. People will tell you something is “ours” until it starts growing, then that ego kick in. But I meant that shit. So when Channel 12 called, I wasn’t walking in there by myself like I built all this alone. Nah. If we built it together, we stand on it together.

What make this moment even crazier is we go way back. This man got videos of teenage me fighting 😂😂 so he really watched me go from being that wild YN🥷 to the Man🕴️ I’m becoming today. Now instead of being around each other for some BS, we standing together on Channel 12 talking about fitness, community, giving back and helping people become stronger. That mean something to me.

And we complete opposites 😂 I’m the passionate, raw, I see something and I’m going after it. Korbin polished, intentional, detailed, and he’ll catch the shit I run right past. That balance is why this works. Our birthdays are March 22nd and 23rd, and we spent our birthday weekend doing @calisthenicsonsundays . Looking back, that probably told us everything about how serious we were about this.

So this really just a thank you, bro. Thank you for believing in the vision, but even more, thank you for believing in the man I was becoming. We got a long way to go, but one thing for sure …I don’t want to build something big by myself. I want to build something real with people I trust.
