I had this great professor back in college. Among other things, he was a very accomplished writer, and he used to say to us all the time, “You know you’re a writer because you have to write.” Although I dabble in writing, here we consider ourselves to be teachers, and the WHY we teach is the same: because we have to.We are, in essence, educating people. It’s in our DNA to do so. It’s like a vocation. The more unique part about WHY we teach also relates to something that professor used to say. He said one of the biggest challenges that we are all going to face is the impact of too much information. Information overload. Just straight up TMI. He was right; a big part of why sometimes life seems difficult—and maybe even unnecessarily so—is this key under appreciated detail: we are inundated with too many ideas, overstimulated in every sense, and literally naviagting an “attention economy”. One major effect of this information overload is a lack of clarity about what it means to be a healthy human. In a very deliberate sense, we aim to teach in order to provide that clarity, and we do so by focusing on what’s simple, and on what we all need to do on a daily basis. It’s kind of a surprising list, and it is a very solid foundation for how to sift through all the noise. We sit, we walk, we grip things, we stand, we lie down, and in every moment, we breath. THAT’s IT. By focusing on this simple list, not only can we guide you through the excess of information, but we can do what we are best at: helping you build strength which supports longevity. This speaks to our core belief, in fact, that by building strength with this foundation, we can feel more at ease in our bodies, and in life overall. Honestly, at the end of the day, that is our top priority, to teach you how to embody ease, so that your life is easier. So it starts with the body, but who knows, though, if enough of us feel at ease, aren’t distracted by the excess, are able to focus on what we truly value, on a larger scale, who knows what’s possible… by @korumovementstudio

Have you checked out the WHO • WHAT • WHY posts we put up a month ago? Hope so! If not, go watch the WHY video before this one. This post and more will be part of an ongoing discussion about WHY we teach what we teach, as well as the way we teach. For now, 3 questions. Your answers are much appreciated!1) What’s something you are absolutely certain is relevant for all of us regarding health/wellness? Please provide as many answers as you’d like.2) How many of us would need to agree on what’s relevant for all of us for it to be valuable?3) Why does it matter if we agree? by @korumovementstudio

Hi 👋 I’m Nick.I’ve been a personal trainer for the last 8 years, it’s the best job I’ve ever had.I’ve coached groups and 1-on-1 clients all over southeastern PA. Bucks County, Montgomery County, and the Lehigh Valley. I’ve worked with kids as young as 5 years old, and adults who are 90+. Right now, my efforts are split between helping busy adults get fitter and young athletes perform better. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re at, or what you do; the bottom line is, I can help you learn and grow more than you think you can. 👉 @korumovementstudio 👉 @dsu_ex_phys 👉 @moravianathletics by @korumovementstudio

Movement 5: HANG for time. Choose Gymnastic rings or Bar. Hang from bar or rings, hang as long as you can with one or two hands. Switching hands is not necessary but encouraged if you can briefly hang on one arm to relax the other. 1 attempt. Recommended Practice: Hanging from a bar with feet supported or unsupported will help. The goal is endurance so do sets of 30-60seconds with a 2 minute rest in between. If you are good hanging from two hands, try one hand to shake out the tension and switch as you get tired in the Strength Games. The 1st ever KORU Strength Games will take place May 3rd 9-11 AM at KORU Movement Studio in New Hope! Come see what you can accomplish and learn by immersing yourself in the atmosphere of strength! by @korumovementstudio
