The window to claim is usually 18 to 36 months, and it counts from when each stream happened, not from when the song came out. So a song from three years ago that people still play is earning money you can claim right now. Nobody will notify you, so register today. Every week you wait, another week ages out ⏳ Comment EP282 for the full episode with @jacobpool___ 📥 Want it registered this week instead of someday? Comment KOSIGN to apply 🔑 by @kosignmusic

Short answer: yes, but your percentage matters more than the chart position. Jacob has seen KOSIGN writers with Billboard Top 10 songs and under 10% of the song make low to mid six figures over a couple of years. Own 30 to 40% of a radio smash and that's house money, in his words. Just remember to get your split in the room, not after the song blows up 💪 Comment EP282 for the full episode with @jacobpool___ 📥 Own your split, then let KOSIGN collect every dollar of it. Music is a global industry. So why aren't you getting paid globally? If you're only set up with your local PRO (ASCAP, BMI, etc.) and the MLC, you're likely missing out on a ton of your publishing royalties. The MLC only collects mechanical royalties for streams in the United States. PROs only collect performance publishing royalties, and they are notoriously slow at collecting international royalties. And remember, you have a limited time to collect those royalties before they're lost forever to the black box. At KOSIGN, we register your music directly with streaming services and collection societies all over the world. This reduces middlemen so you get paid more of your money as fast as possible. Stop waiting and start collecting all of your international publishing royalties. Jacob Paul, Vice President of Platform Growth & Brand Strategy at Kobalt and a founding team member of KOSIGN, breaks down what global publishing administration actually does. A global publishing administrator helps register your songs, track where they are being used, and collect publishing royalties across different territories, platforms, and rights organizations around the world. Publishing income can come from far beyond one distributor or one country. If your songs are being streamed, performed, broadcast, licensed, or used internationally, proper administration helps make sure those royalties are identified and collected. Making music is one part of the job. Making sure the publishing side is set up to collect globally is another. Apply to @kosignmusic to collect your publishing royalties worldwide!
