I put this post off for way too long… I’m still not sure what swimming meant to me. For the longest time I just did it because I was relatively good at it compared to other things I did. I don’t think the sport itself gave me a lot of joy, but when looking back through the highlight reel in making this post I realized how many friends, memories, and lifelong lessons I learned from doing this terrible sport for 12 years. It was fun sometimes. There’s a weird feeling you can get in some races where you want to win more than anyone else, and all those hours of practices allow you to push yourself harder than you ever thought you could. I don’t think I’ll ever feel anything like that ever again, and I’ll never forget those moments.

I obviously couldn’t put every coach, teammate, and supporter I wanted to in here, but if swimming brought us together somehow or someway I just want to say thank you for being in that part of my life. You helped me grow into the person I am today, and made the endless yards of training maybe… possibly… worth it. by @kosmocostco
